It’s another day and another celebrity GoFundMe campaign controversy. Yesterday, Corey Harrison, from the show Pawn Stars, took to social media to ask for financial help after a motorcycle accident sidelined him last month. Followers were quick to question why the Harrison family wasn’t helping Corey get back on his feet, considering their pretty substantial net worth. Now, Rick Harrison is speaking out, and he’s calling his son out for failing to tell the whole truth

Rick Harrison says he paid Corey’s medical bills

As soon as Corey Harrison asked fans for money, they began questioning the whereabouts of Rick Harrison, Corey’s father. The pawn store owner and reality TV star has a large enough net worth to help out his son. At the very least, floating him the amount of money he was asking for shouldn’t have been an issue. Theories began to surface that there was a falling-out between father and son.

While that doesn’t appear to be the case, Rick Harrison doesn’t seem particularly pleased with Corey at the moment. TMZ caught up with the Las Vegas businessman, who insisted that he has no idea what Corey is talking about. In fact, he has no idea why he’s asking fans for cash. The elder Harrison claims he was under the impression he had already covered all of his son’s medical bills. He went on to tell the outlet that his son is a grown man and is responsible for his finances. While he didn’t say it out loud, it seems pretty clear that Rick isn’t buying Corey’s story either.

What has Corey Harrison been doing since leaving ‘Pawn Stars’

As we reported yesterday. Corey Harrison launched a GoFundMe Campaign claiming he had exhausted his savings paying his medical bills. In the lengthy summary, Harrison alleged that he had borrowed money from family and friends, but had nowhere left to turn as mounting medical costs in his new hometown of Tulum, Mexico, pushed him toward financial ruin.

The former reality TV star also implied he was out of luck in the job market, claiming he no longer had ties to Pawn Stars or the family business in Las Vegas. The younger Harrison decided to step away from Pawn Stars in 2024, after the completion of season 23. According to TV Insider,he cited a desire to pursue other opportunities as the reason for his departure. Since then, he’s moved to Mexico and has launched a podcast, though that doesn’t appear to be bringing in the bacon. The podcast has been on pause since he was injured in January.

This is a developing story.
