Ronald Fenty, the father of Rihanna, has died after a brief illness. The retired warehouse supervisor was just 70. Fenty’s death comes just weeks after Rihanna shared happy news by revealing her third pregnancy. Fenty, who had a complicated relationship with his daughter, was thrilled to be a grandfather and even spoke to the media after Rihanna’s Super Bowl baby announcement when she was expecting her second child.

Ronald Fenty dies at 70

Rihanna and her family are mourning the loss of her father, Ronald Fenty. TMZ broke the news that Fenty died on May 31 at age 70. According to the publication, Fenty was suffering from an illness and had been hospitalized. While his cause of death is unclear, Rihanna’s brother, Rajad, was spotted visiting Cedars-Sinai Hospital earlier in the week. Allegedly, Rihanna was at the hospital, as well, but photographers did not spot her.

Ronald Fenty had six children. He welcomed his younger children, Rajad, Rorrey, and Rihanna, with his former partner, Monica Braithwaite. He also had three children from previous relationships. Little is known about Rihanna’s half-siblings, Samantha, Kandy, and Jamie.

Shortly after Rihanna announced her second pregnancy at the 2023 Super Bowl, Ronald Fenty spoke to TMZ, revealing he learned of the pregnancy with the rest of the world and was over the moon. Fenty was in the stands to watch his daughter perform. He told the publication he hoped Rihanna would welcome a baby girl. She ultimately welcomed a second son.
