While their cause of death was announced shortly after their deaths, their death certificates offer more details about what happened inside the family’s estate.
TMZ obtained a copy of the death certificates. While an official time of death has not been publicly shared, how quickly the pair died is listed on the documents. The legal documents note that both Michele and Rob Reiner died within minutes of the onset of the knife attacks.

Rob Reiner’s body was reportedly discovered first at 3:45 pm on December 14. His wife, Michele, was also located, deceased, just one minute later. It is unclear if the couple were in separate rooms.
According to several reports, the first indication of trouble didn’t come until the afternoon of December 14, when the Reiners didn’t respond to calls from a massage therapist they had scheduled. The couple was last seen at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party on the evening of December 13. They left early after an alleged argument with their son, Nick Reiner, who also attended the event. It is unclear exactly what time they departed the festivities, though.
They were cremated, but a memorial has not yet been planned
The Reiner family has been quiet in the immediate aftermath of Rob and Michele Reiner’s deaths. They have issued a couple of public statements, though. The couple’s children, Romy and Jake Reiner, recently thanked the public for their outpouring of love and support. They went on to reveal they would share information about a memorial service at a later date. Rob Reiner also has a daughter from his previous marriage to Penny Marshall. She issued a statement immediately following her father’s death.
While the family is planning a memorial service at a later date, the couple’s current resting place has been revealed. According to the death certificate, Michele and Rob Reiner were cremated, and their ashes were returned to Jake Reiner.
