Romeo Beckham’s Girlfriend Has Also Been at the Center of a Beckham Family Feud
By now, we’ve all seen Brooklyn Beckham’s bombshell statement about his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
For anyone who needs a refresher, Brooklyn accused his mother and father of “controlling the narrative” in the press and trying to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz. He claimed that Victoria’s behavior on his wedding day embarrassed him and that David “refused” to see him with Peltz before his 50th birthday party.
Brooklyn took to his Instagram Stories with a six-page post, writing, “I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family … My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”
He added, “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.
“Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face.”
But Peltz isn’t the only woman whose name has come up in reports of the family’s feud. Rumors circulated for a while that Brooklyn and his younger brother, Romeo Beckham, were at odds because Romeo is dating Brooklyn’s ex-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
However, their other brother, Cruz, stepped in recently to dispel that rumor. He explicitly stated on social media that “Brooklyn and Kim never dated.” Turnball also issued a statement of her own in which she denied ever being romantically involved with Brooklyn.
Romeo and Cruz were mentioned in their older brother’s post with Brooklyn writing: “My brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.” Although Cruz previously claimed that he and his entire family woke up and saw that Brooklyn had blocked them just before Christmas.
Since Brooklyn’s bombshell statement, the Beckham family has carried on with a business-as-usual approach. In fact, the very day Brooklyn aired his grievances David had a speaking engagement on CNBC’s Squawk Box, which he kept. During the segment, the former soccer star talked about the “power of social media.”
He never mentioned his eldest son’s name when he said, “I’ve always spoken about social media and the power of social media, for the good and for the bad … But what I’ve found personally, you know, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons … children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids … You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
