Rosanna Arquette Disputes Virginia Giuffre’s Cause of Death
Virginia Giuffre died in April 2025, years after going public with allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Her death, reportedly by suicide, highlighted the lasting and ongoing impact that sex crimes have on their victims. While that impact is very real, Rosanna Arquette doesn’t believe Virginia Giuffre died by suicide; she’s recently spoken out to question if foul play was involved in the survivor’s death.
Rosanna Arquette believes foul play was involved in Virginia Guiffre’s death
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested last month for his connection to Jeffrey Epstein and his crimes. The unprecedented move, along with the release of the Epstein files, has reignited interest in the troubling case and the rich and powerful men attached to the sexual predator. It has also reignited interest in the victims of those crimes, including Virginia Giuffre. She’s never far from Rosanna Arquette’s mind, it seems.
Arquette, who has connected with several of the women who survived abuse by Jeffrey Epstein, feels certain that Virginia Giuffre did not die by suicide. In a chat with The Times, Arquette discussed her career, sexual abuse in the industry, and current events. She also opened up about her connection to Giuffre, the lasting impact of her work against sex trafficking, and all she endured in her life. Arquette was asked directly if she believed Giuffre’s death was caused by suicide, and, despite several setbacks, Arquette said she does not believe Giuffre took her own life. She questions whether foul play was involved.
Family members and those closest to Giuffre are on the same page with Arquette. According to several outlets, Giuffre’s father and her lawyer have both questioned the cause of death. Police have not opened an inquiry into the death, and a year later, it seems unlikely that they will. The cause of death is still listed as suicide.
When did the abuse survivor die?
Virginia Giuffre died in April 2025 in Australia, where she had been living for years after her sex trafficking ordeal. In the months preceding her death, Giuffre was dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, alleged domestic violence in that marriage, and a host of medical issues. In the days before her death, Giuffre took to social media to reveal she had been in a car accident and, later, hospitalized for kidney failure.
She was released from the hospital just days before her death. The details of Giuffre’s death remain confidential. Her death was reported by her immediate family on April 25. According to the BBC, Giuffre died at her farm in Western Australia. She was 41. Her book, Nobody’s Girl, was published posthumously in October 2025.
