‘He Cannot Be Trusted’: Prince Harry’s ‘Big Mistake’ Could Put His ‘Most Important Thing’ at Risk
Prince Harry recently opened up about his family drama after moving back to the U.K. with Meghan Markle and their kids. However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams thinks this could backfire. “The peace offering is already undermined as it is public,” he told Fox News Digital. “That continues to be his big mistake. He cannot be trusted.”
He thinks the Sussexes’ past interviews and Harry’s tell-all Spare have already hurt their ties with the royal family. “Family disputes are bitter,” he said. He added that all this public talk makes a family reunion “highly unlikely.” The Duke of Sussex spoke to GQ journalist Zach Baron in September.
Harry said, “Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile — that’s the key point.” He also spoke about his rocky relationship with his father and brother. Asked if he felt sad about their broken ties, he said, “Yes, of course.”
He continued, “Scars stick around forever, but what your perception is and what your mindset is to those things that have happened, certainly letting go of the past, that’s something that I would encourage everybody to do.” Harry added that moving back to the U.K. “meant a lot” to him, especially for their kids.
He stated, “They’re loving it and it’s just giving them a whole different experience. I’m not criticizing American schools. But I think for kids at seven and five, to be able to have that comparison and to have two completely different cultural experiences is so important today.”
Harry also opened up about losing his mother, Princess Diana, when he was just 12. He said therapy helped him deal with feelings he’d buried for years. Asked how life feels now, he said, “Better and harder.” He also shared one regret about Diana. He often thinks about their last phone call and wishes he had known it was their final one.
“If I’d known it was the last call with her, how different that conversation would’ve been,” he said. He admitted he struggled to cry for years but slowly learned to face his feelings. Now, he tries to be more open with his kids. Harry also explained why he keeps sharing his story. He would rather tell it himself than let others speak for it.
“Why not try to be in control of your own story?” he said. “Because if they can’t be responsible enough to tell your story, then you have to tell your own story.” Meanwhile, William reportedly still isn’t ready to make peace with his brother.
According to The Mirror, sources close to the Princess of Wales said he had “no intention of engaging with Prince Harry.” King Charles, meanwhile, has resumed contact with Harry. The King met Harry, Markle, and their children at Highgrove on July 10.
The reunion gave Charles a chance to spend time with his grandchildren after years apart. But on September 7, a letter authorized by Charles reaffirmed that Harry and Markle remain non-working members of the royal family. Their status hasn’t changed.
