With King Charles ruling out his return to royal duties, Prince Harry could try something completely different. According to the Daily Record, former royal butler Grant Harrold told Smooth Spins Casino, 

“If Prince Harry was to be sensible about the whole situation and not go down the Netflix route, he could try a series of him going around royal homes and palaces. I don’t think it would be that hugely successful, but the Royal Family wouldn’t mind him doing that because then it’s on brand.” 

Harrold, who worked for Charles at Highgrove between 2004 and 2011, added that British daytime TV could also be on the cards. “In terms of British reality shows, it’s tricky. I could see him being back on the sofa of This Morning, especially with the Invictus Games,” he shared. 

Harrold also mentioned Good Morning Britain. “You never know, he could be on Good Morning Britain. He’s done all the American chat shows. I would say it’s not impossible. I think it would be acceptable if he’s promoting the Invictus Games, but as long as he’s really careful,” the royal butler continued.

He also floated the idea of a quiz show, saying, “Could Harry go on a quiz show? Well, Princess Anne was on Blankety Blank. It’s a bit of fun, and maybe he could go on a show with Michael McIntyre.” Harrold said Harry has to find a new way of working. It is because traditional royal duties aren’t an option. 

“That’s all very possible. Let’s face it, he’s got to come up with some new way of doing things. He’s not going to be doing the traditional royal stuff. So he’s got to do something that’s going to keep the family happy,” he said. 

He also believes Harry needs to rebuild support in Britain. “Doing the game show circuit, making guest appearances to promote his brand and the games is completely feasible. Trying a different approach is not a bad idea for Harry, as he’s a lot of fun. He needs to win the British public over,” Harrold concluded.

Harrold expects to see more of Harry before Christmas. The comments came after Buckingham Palace issued a letter on September 7 on behalf of Charles. The 77-year-old monarch used the letter to reaffirm Harry and Meghan Markle’s status after their return.

The couple remains non-working members of the royal family. The Lord Chamberlain, the most senior official in the royal household, sent the letter to senior government and military officials. It also went to lord lieutenants, who serve as the King’s personal representatives around Britain. 

The Lord Chamberlain said it is “well known that in January 2020 the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of The Sovereign, and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family.” That position will “continue to be fully respected,” the letter said.

“There is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” it added. The Palace also addressed Harry and Markle’s charity work. It called their work “a personal matter for them both and undertaken in their private capacity.” 

In short, “their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.” Their correspondence and administrative matters will continue through their own office. The office will operate separately from the Royal Household. 

Harry and Markle’s spokesperson told CNN that the pair was “surprised” by the letter. They also said the couple wasn’t allowed to add to it. The Sussexes’ spokesperson added that the staff received the contents only a few hours before release.
