Images recently circulated of King Charles’ brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, driving near his new Marsh Farm home with a large bruise on the right side of his face. The bruise was impossible to miss and prompted headlines about how the disgraced royal got it.

Well, an insider has decided to address Andrew’s facial contusion, but did not offer enough information to end the public’s speculation.

The source close to the former Duke of York told the Daily Mail that the bruise is not a “cause for concern,” and added that there was “no drama” associated with it. However, they declined to comment further due to medical confidentiality.

Of course, people can get bruises a number of different ways, from being on blood thinners to bumping into something to facial surgery to being hit or punched in the area.

Andrew has made news a lot over the last several months following King Charles’ decision to strip him of his “prince” title and evict him from his longtime Royal Lodge residence over Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew was arrested in February 2026 for suspicion of misconduct in public office. Police are also investigating claims that ex-duke allegedly behaved inappropriately towards a woman who was working as a waitress at Royal Ascot.
