Rumored ‘Bachelorette’ Winner Said He’s ‘Sending Prayers’ to Taylor Frankie Paul
Now that ABC has canceled Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, fans of the show will not see her path to engagement with the winner. This season will not air following new domestic violence allegations against Paul and a leaked video from 2023. In the aftermath, the rumored winner said he is hoping for the best for Paul.
ABC canceled its upcoming season of ‘The Bachelorette’
A recently leaked video depicts the incident that resulted in Paul’s 2023 arrest. In footage captured by her ex, Dakota Mortensen, Paul shouts at him and begins throwing chairs while her daughter is in the room. Mortensen tells her, “Your daughter just got hit in the head by a metal chair.”
The leaked footage prompted Disney, ABC’s parent company, to cancel this season of the show.
“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a spokesperson told Today.
Paul’s season of The Bachelorette would have aired on March 22.
The show’s rumored winner offered well wishes to Taylor Frankie Paul
Ahead of the season’s cancellation, longtime Bachelor franchise commenter Reality Steve leaked the news that contestant Doug Mason won this season. He responded to the news that his season would not air.
“In light of everything that has happened, I am just sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked,” he said in an Instagram video (via Us Weekly). “All we can do right now is just be hopeful, and I am headed off to run to watch the sunrise.”
He encouraged people to remain positive in the wake of the situation.
“I hope you guys have a great day, and let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.”
Taylor Frankie Paul reportedly parted ways with the winner after filming ‘The Bachelorette’
While Mason reportedly won The Bachelorette, Steve said his story with Paul will not end in marriage. He claimed they broke up after filming wrapped.
“Since filming ended, Taylor and Doug have broken up,” Reality Steve said (via Cosmopolitan). “And yes, it’s because of Dakota.”
He said her on-and-off relationship with Mortensen was the reason for her split with Mason.
“Doug flew to Utah about a month after the engagement (in January I’m told), and Taylor ended it. The reasons behind it? I guess we’ll find out when it airs, but if Taylor says it’s anything other than Dakota, she’s not being honest with herself or the audience,” he said. “So any TikToks or teases she does on social media is just to promote her season. She is not with Doug anymore. Nor is she with Dakota. She just can’t seem to move on from him.”
Roughly one month after this, Paul and Mortensen made allegations of domestic violence against each other.
