The sequel fans have been asking for is finally happening. Deadline confirmed that Paramount is releasing the next Rush Hour film starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. The news comes after President Donald Trump reportedly spoke to those in charge at Paramount and pushed for production of the movie.

The first Rush Hour movie came out in 1998, followed by Rush Hour 2 in 2001 and the third installment in 2007. Now, Tucker and Chan are back for part 4 of the franchise.

Chan was asked just a few months back when fans would get a Rush Hour 4 to which he replied, “Ask the studio. Ask the director. Ask the writer.” He then joked that he’s been waiting so long and that he and Tucker could be “100 years old” by the time they do the next one.

So just how old are Chan and Tucker as they prepare to start filming? Here’s the answer to that, plus who has the higher net worth.

Jackie Chan’s age and net worth

Fang Shilong, known professionally as Jackie Chan, was born Chan Kong-sang on April 7, 1954, in Hong Kong.

His career in the film industry began long before he starred in Rush Hour as Chan worked as a stuntman in the 1960s. Then in the ’70s, he gained popularity for his amazing stuntwork and unique fighting style in action movies. Chan’s breakthrough role came in the action comedy Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow in 1978. Following the role, he starred in other action comedies such as Drunken Master and The Young Master

For the next two decades, Chan was a major star in Hong Kong, appearing in several action flicks. His fame in the U.S. expanded with the release of the buddy cop action comedy in which he played Chief Inspector Lee.

Chan has since starred in and directed a number of flicks since including Shanghai Noon, The Tuxedo, and the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Today, he has a whopping net worth of $400 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Chris Tucker’s age and net worth

Christopher Tucker was born in Atlanta on Aug. 31, 1971, to parents Mary Louise (née Bryant) and Norris Tucker.

The actor began his career doing stand-up in Atlanta clubs before moving to Los Angeles. In 1992, Tucker began performing on the Def Comedy Jam series. He made his film debut in House Party 3 in 1994. The following year, he starred in the hit Friday movie alongside Ice Cube. He was praised for his performance as the character Smokey and followed it up with his roles in The Fifth Element and Money Talks

When it came to the Rush Hour franchise, Tucker earned $20 million to star in the sequel ($40 million in today’s dollars) and a $25 million salary for Rush Hour 3. He also received 20% of the gross receipts for Rush Hour 3. His salary for those films alone comes to about $65 million after adjusting for inflation.

However, despite his successful career and top earnings, Tucker only has a net worth of $5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. That’s because of the financial woes he’s dealt with over the years.

By 2011, Tucker was in deep debt with the IRS. The publication noted that “IRS and California tax filings would later reveal that Chris owed the IRS $11.5 million in taxes for the years 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005. By 2014, the debt had risen to $14 million. Tucker’s tax debt was finally settled in 2014.”
