The disgraced music executive mostly fled the country after multiple women accused him of sexual assault, but he still found the time to clap back at his ex after she said she largely raised her family alone. Russell claims he was forced out of his daughters’ lives. The other men who have fathered Kimora’s children have not responded. Do you know how many children she has?
Kimora Lee Simmons has two daughters with Russell Simmons
Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons were married for 11 years, from 1998 until 2009, though their separation began in 2006. During that marriage, they welcomed two daughters together. Ming Lee Simmons was born in 2000. Their second daughter, Aoki Lee Simmons, followed in 2002. Both girls are models who have chosen to distance themselves from their father in recent years.
While Kimora and Russell put up a united front in public and on TV, Kimora Lee Simmons has been very open about the end of her marriage since finalizing her divorce. She cited Russell’s infidelity as a main reason for their split in her divorce filing. In recent years, she said she often felt like she was carrying the marriage alone and that she and Simmons were in very different places emotionally when they split. She has contended that she largely raised her daughters solo after the split, and was their primary caregiver during the marriage, too.
She has a son with Djimon Hounsou
In 2009, Kimora Lee Simmons welcomed her first son. Djimon Hounsou, an actor, and Simmons reportedly dated for about a year before they found out they were expecting. The couple opted to keep the relationship private, and their split was just as mysterious. They announced the end of their romance in 2012. While Hounsou once said he considered Simmons his wife, the duo were never officially wed, and it seems a custody agreement was never ironed out, either.
In 2018, Simmons said she was raising Kenzo as a solo parent and that Hounsou didn’t provide for the boy, financially or emotionally. He clapped back, insisting he did support his child. TMZ caught up with the actor in 2019, and he insinuated that Simmons was keeping his child away from him. He indicated he hadn’t seen him in some time, but insisted he wasn’t going to engage in a battle with the mother of his child.

While Simmons left the country, and Hounsou is voluntarily choosing not to fight for custody time, Kimora Lee Simmons knows exactly where the father of her youngest child is. Tim Leissner, a businessman, fathered a son with Kimora Lee Simmons before he was subsequently named and charged in a massive bribery and money-laundering scheme.
Leissner is currently serving a two-year federal prison sentence for his role in the 1MDB scandal. Simmons distanced herself from the former investment banker before he was sentenced, though. They were first linked in 2013. They split in 2018 when allegations around Leissner’s money-laundering scheme became public. His messy personal life, including the fact that he faked a divorce to move forward with Simmons, furthered their estrangement. They share one son, Wolfe, though Leissner has clearly not seen him recently.
Most recently, Simmons adopted a child as a single parent. Her son, Gary Lee, joined the family in 2020. She had previously discussed her interest in adoption. Kimora Lee Simmons is the mother of five children, two of whom are adults.
