Ryan Seacrest Got Close to Proposing Just Once
Ryan Seacrest has been single for a while. Over the years, there have been plenty of rumors about the perpetual bachelor and the way he chooses to live his life. Insiders have suggested that the TV host can’t keep a relationship going because he’s just too work-obsessed. Whether that is true or not is anyone’s guess, but Seacrest drew attention earlier this week when he referenced being single and/or lonely multiple times. It looks like the TV personality would like to settle down. In fact, he actually came pretty close once. While he’s had several high-profile relationships, Seacrest once admitted that he only once considered popping the question.

Ryan Seacrest raised more than a few eyebrows during an awkward Wheel of Fortune encounter recently. Seacrest, who has been hosting the show since Pat Sajak retired in 2024, referenced Vanna White’s recent marriage. He then noted that he was “lonely” on the set, surrounded by only couples, and made an odd reference to Tinder.
One comment about love and loneliness probably wouldn’t have been noticed. The multiple comments about his relationship status, however, have fans wondering if all is OK with Seacrest. He’s been single since 2024, and apparently, it is starting to get to him. While rumors have long swirled that he prefers being single, Seacrest seems to be a serial monogamist, and he has thought about marriage.
He came close to proposing once before
While Ryan Seacrest is currently unattached and apparently unhappy about it, he once considered tying the knot. While still co-hosting Live with Kelly and Mark back in 2017, Seacrest admitted that balancing his personal and professional life is challenging. He noted he did wish to get married at some point.
Seacrest admitted that he almost proposed once, but ultimately didn’t go through with it. While he didn’t reveal who he almost asked to be his wife, fans can make an educated guess based on his long-term loves. Seacrest may have considered proposing to Shayna Taylor, his on-again-off-again girlfriend from 2013 until about 2020. Some fans think he might have been referring to Julianne Hough, whom he dated for 3 years until 2013. The former flames maintained a close friendship even after the split and seemed to be very much in love while together.
Seacrest last dated Aubrey Paige Petcosky. The couple raised eyebrows thanks to their age gap, with Petcosky 23 years younger than Seacrest. The couple dated for about three years before splitting in 2024. Seacrest hasn’t been spotted with anyone new since.
