Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola Announces The Birth of Her First Baby
It’s official: there is a brand-new member of the Jersey Shore family on the block. Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola has announced the birth of her first child. The baby boy arrived safely last week and is officially a member of the squad. Fans of the beloved reality TV series have already given the newborn a shore-approved nickname.

Sammi Giancola and her fiancé, Justin May, have officially welcomed their first baby together. The couple announced the arrival of Vincent Keith May on August 26, just six days after his birth. They shared a series of photos that showed off all of his important stats via Instagram. The newborn arrived on August 20 at 8:18 pm. He weighed 8 pounds and 4 ounces and measured just 20 inches long.
Vincent’s arrival is an especially monumental occasion for Giancola and May. The reality TV star has been open about her fertility struggles and her IVF journey. She also revealed she experienced a miscarriage before carrying Vincent to term. She announced the pregnancy via Instagram in February and took fans along for the ride, posting photos of her gender reveal party, baby shower, and other special events.
Giancola and May began dating in 2021, but they met years earlier at the Jersey Shore. They announced their engagement last year. It’s unclear exactly when they plan to tie the knot. Giancola was previously engaged to Christian Biscardi. The couple were set to marry in 2020, but postponed their nuptials due to the pandemic. They broke up in the spring of 2021; the split was reportedly amicable. Giancola introduced May to her fans towards the end of the year.
‘Jersey Shore’ fans have already given Baby May a nickname
While the cast and crew of Jersey Shore were heavily invested in Giancola’s pregnancy, fans were just as interested in seeing the reality TV star become a mom. The baby’s name struck them as an interesting choice once the announcement was made. They were quick to dub Giancola and May’s first baby Vinny 3.0. The original Vinny, Vinny Guadagnino, has appeared on Jersey Shore since its inaugural season. Angelina Pivranick’s ex-boyfriend, Vinny Tortorella, was nicknamed Vinny 2.0 when he appeared on the reality TV series, so naturally, fans have decided the newborn is Vinny 3.0.
Whatever nickname Giancola and May choose to go with, fans will be fine with it. The baby boy joins a cast of many children. Most of the cast members are parents. Nicole Polizzi has three children, Lorenzo, Giovanna, and Angelo, with her husband, Jionni LaValle. Jenni Farley has two children. She shares Melania and Greyson with her ex-husband, Roger Matthews. They are both heavily featured on her Instagram account. Deena Cortese is also the mother of two, welcoming sons, CJ and Cameron, with her husband, Chris Bruckner.
The boys of Jersey Shore are also proud parents. Mike Sorrentino, Pauly DelVecchio, and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro are all fathers. Sorrentino has three children, Romeo, Mia, and Luna, with his wife Lauren. DelVecchio shocked fans in 2013 when he announced the birth of his daughter, Amabella. Ortiz-Magro welcomed his daughter, Ariana Sky, in 2018. Baby Vincent May is the 13th child born to a member of the cast.
