Sarah Ferguson Issues Apology to King Charles and Other Royals Ahead of Christmas
It’s been two months since King Charles’ brother, Andrew, relinquished his Duke of York title. That move affected his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, as well since she still used her Duchess of York title.
Another move that affected Fergie is when the king announced that Andrew would be stripped of the prince title he held since birth, it was also revealed that Andrew would have to vacate Royal Lodge, the Windsor residence he shares with Sarah.
The statement from Buckingham Palace read: “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor … [Andrew’s] lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”
Andrew and Fergie have been banned from attending the family’s holiday gathering and Christmas morning walk in Sandringham as well, now that their lives in the royal spotlight are over. But Sarah did want to reach out to the king and a few other royals personally, following all that has transpired over the last couple of months.
Sources have told the Daily Mail that along with her festive wishes, Sarah has sent a personal apology to the king and a few other royals over her continued friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, after she claimed they no longer spoke.
Fergie and Andrew are expected to be out of Royal Lodge by October 2026. The former duke will be moving to a private estate in Norfolk. It’s not clear at this time if Sarah will join him.
