There have been plenty of changes for Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor over the last few weeks after new allegations surfaced about their association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

On Oct. 17, Andrew relinquished his Duke of York title amid mounting pressure from the public and other royals to do so. That meant that his ex-wife, Sarah, who was still known as the Duchess of York, could no longer use that title.

Then, on Oct. 30, King Charles brought down the hammer and the Palace released a statement that read: “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. In addition to the prince title–given to him at birth–Andrew will also lose the titles of Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh, the style ‘His Royal Highness,’ and the honors of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Victorian Order.”

The statement added that Andrew and Sarah were being kicked out of their massive 30-room Royal Lodge estate in Windsor, noting that the “lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided [Andrew] with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”

While it was reported that Andrew will relocate to a private home on the family’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, his former wife has to come up with her own accommodations. Well, now Fergie may be looking to leave the U.K. altogether, according to royal commentator Phil Dampier.

He suggested that Sarah may opt to move to Australia, where her sister, Jane, currently resides. The sisters are reportedly very close and Jane even flew to England recently to be with Sarah amid the fallout over her Epstein ties.

“Sarah’s sister Jane recently came over to comfort her, and she has suggested she could always move to be near her in Australia,” Dampier told Woman’s Day. “Fergie has always loved Oz and Aussies, and some still like her.”

Moving to Australia would keep Sarah away from the constant press about her and her ex-husband. But it would also mean that she would be pretty far from her daughters and her grandchildren and she likely won’t want to put that much distance between them.

Friends of Sarah’s admitted that she’s dealing with a “lonely” and difficult period in her life right now. Charities have dumped her, and a lot of people don’t want to associate with her anymore.

One of Fergie’s confidants, socialite Liz Brewer shared that while Sarah remains an affable and engaging person, she’s no longer welcome in certain social circles. When asked whether the former duchess is accepted at elite social functions anymore, Brewer responded, “No.”

Another pal revealed that Sarah has been grappling with a sense of detachment, saying, “She’s been cut adrift. I’m trying to keep her spirits up, but when we spoke, she seemed lonely and isolated … She’s always been resilient. But this time feels different.”
