We are just days away from the premiere of And Just Like That… season 3. Fans are impatiently awaiting the release after a nearly two-year hiatus. In the lead-up to the premiere, the show’s main actors have been sitting down for interviews. Sarah Jessica Parker, who famously plays Carrie Bradshaw, subtly revealed why the season took so long to get to fans. She pointed out that season 3 had an unusually long filming schedule.

Sarah Jessica Parker is excited for fans to see season 3 of And Just Like That… The famed actor appeared on Live With Kelly and Mark to discuss the upcoming season. She even opened up about the storyline and filming schedule.

Parker said fans can expect a big juicy storyline in season 3 of the infamous reboot. She said the filming schedule was unusually long, but the set was filled with delighted cast members. She insists that the wait will have been worth it.

When did filming take place?

Sarah Jessica Parker admitted it took longer than is typical to film season 3, but she doesn’t seem upset by that. In fact, Parker made it clear that everyone was more than happy to be on set. So, how long exactly did it take? Parker said filming took between 6 and 7 months, but we have the exact filming dates.

Several cast members took to social media to celebrate the first day of filming for the upcoming season. Those posts went live on May 1, 2024. The team documented the filming process, both on their personal Instagram account as well as official accounts for the series. According to the official And Just Like That… Instagram, filming wrapped on Oct. 31, 2024. They celebrated Sarah Jessica Parker’s final scene in front of Carrie’s framed brownstone with a post.

In total, the cast of And Just Like That… spent 183 days filming season 3. Parker’s estimate was almost exactly right. One hundred eighty-three days is just over six months of filming. Even after the bulk of filming was complete, some cast members headed back to the set for reshoots. Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbes, was spotted filming a scene with Chris Eigenberg, who plays Steve Brady, in Queens in January. Michael Patrick King was on hand.

How long did it take to film season 2?

Sarah Jessica Parker noted that the filming process was “unusually long” for season 3 of And Just Like That…, but technically, season 2 was filmed over a similar number of days. Filming for season 2 began on Oct. 4, 2022. The cast filmed through the winter, finishing up with a final scene on Apr. 14, 2023. Filming for season 2 took place over a 192-day period. While it technically took longer, the cast was on set for fewer days, as the second season’s filming schedule ran across multiple holidays, which led to long breaks in filming.
