‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ Director Said She ‘Definitely’ Has ‘Fears’ After Docuseries
The recent four-part docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, has brought director Alexandria Stapleton a great deal of attention. She has taken on the disgraced mogul as her subject matter in a way that has infuriated his lawyers. While executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said he has no concerns about his safety after the documentary’s release, Stapleton is a bit more cautious.
The director of ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ has concerns about her safety
Sean Combs: The Reckoning premiered on Netflix on Dec. 2. The documentary tracks the early years of Combs’ life and digs into the allegations against them. It also became a point of contention for Combs’ team because it uses footage from shortly before the disgraced mogul’s arrest.
Jackson and Combs have feuded for years. As Jackson has always been vocal about his dislike for the other man, he said he has little fear of consequences for the docuseries. He looks forward to putting the story out there.
“I’m telling a story no one else is telling because I don’t have the fear that [others] feel towards him,” he told Us Weekly. “I’m not afraid at all.”
Stapleton said she has more concerns about her safety following the documentary’s release.
“You just never know what might happen,” she said. “I definitely have fears.”
Still, she stands by the project. She hopes that “when people finish watching, they can have a conversation about what we put up with and what we condone.”
All four episodes of Sean Combs: The Reckoning are currently streaming on Netflix.
