One of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Bad Boy Artists Threatened to Flatten Him by Pushing a Refrigerator Off a Skyscraper
Sean “Diddy” Combs built an empire with Bad Boy Records, but some of his artists were less than thrilled with him. Some called him out for predatory business practices, and others worked hard to get out of their contracts. One artist took it further than that, though. They said they would push a refrigerator door onto Combs if they could.
A Bad Boy artist wasn’t happy with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Hip hop group The LOX signed with Bad Boy Records in 1996. Before long, though, they felt constrained by the label and wanted out of their contracts. As other artists also found, though, leaving a Bad Boy contract was no easy task. Eventually, the group started a public campaign to “Free The LOX.” The contractual disagreement developed into all all-out war between Combs and the group’s three members, Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch.
In an appearance on New York’s Hot 97 radio station, Jadakiss said Combs was messing with his life by keeping him in the contract. He added that it was “worth really killing” over. He had an extremely creative, if physically unfeasible, plan already thought out.
“No security guard can stop a refrigerator off a skyscraper,” he said. “Stainless steel with the double door joints.”
As The LOX continued their public campaign, pressure mounted for Combs. He released them from their contact and avoided a Looney Tunes-style assassination.
