Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children have attended his trial to support him, and his ex, Misa Hylton recently made an appearance in the courtroom. Hylton hinted that she faced some backlash for this decision. She spoke about why she made the decision to attend the trial.

Misa Hylton shared why she is attending Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial

Hylton, a fashion stylist, appeared at Combs’ trial using a walker. She recently turned to Instagram to explain her decision to attend despite her injury.

“When I suffered my injury I had chosen to heal privately,” she wrote, “but when my son said, ‘Mommy, I need you,’ I was right there for him walker and all.”

Combs and Hylton share one son, Justin Dior Combs. He has attended the trial to support his father. Hylton said she was there to support him, not Combs. She addressed anyone who has questioned this decision, noting that her primary concern is always her children.

“I’m a MOTHER FIRST, FOR REAL and I am my son’s strength and thats just what it is,” she wrote. “Plain and Simple. Whoever doesn’t understand that just simply isn’t in alignment with me or anything that I’m about in life. I’m cool with that. I have a purpose filled life that I live daily. I make impact. I’m not concerned with insecure people attempting to project their insecurities on to me. EVER.”

She ended her post with a request to those reading it.

“If you have God in your heart, pray for us all,” she wrote. “Be kind, use critical thinking and hold your head high.”

They were still friendly after their split

Hylton and Combs broke up in 1993, shortly after welcoming their son. They still remained on good terms after their split, though.

“We’ve had our ups and downs and our fights too and we had our rough patches, but I think ultimately it’s always about the children,” she said on The Premium Pete Show (via People). “We were really close at one time and were really good friends.”

“I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma,” she wrote in the caption. “These young people were raised by women that want the best for them – we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.”

She also said Combs “needed help” and that she was “praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”
