Sean “Diddy” Combs has spent the last several months in a Brooklyn jail that has housed a number of other famous names. He even stayed in the same unit as the notorious cryptocurrency fraudster, Sam Bankman-Fried. Bankman-Fried said he got to know Diddy while their time in jail overlapped. He shared how he felt about the disgraced music mogul and also spoke about their living conditions.

Combs and Bankman-Fried were both housed in unit 4 of the Metropolitan Detention Center, a Brooklyn jail. The dormitory-style unit hosts about 20 men. Bankman-Fried, therefore, got to know Combs while their time in the unit overlapped.

“He’s been kind,” Bankman-Fried told Tucker Carlson (per The New York Times).

According to Gene Borrello, another former inmate in the unit, those in 4 North “have nothing to worry about.” Still, conditions at the jail are notoriously grim, with many people complaining about food and cleanliness. Bankman-Fried shared how he and Combs felt about being incarcerated there. 

“It’s a position no one wants to be in,” he said. “Obviously he doesn’t — I don’t. As you said, it’s kind of a soul-crushing place.”

Combs trial began on May 5. He faces life in prison if convicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
