Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Looks Unrecognizable in New Court Sketches
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has spent months in a Brooklyn jail awaiting trial, and new court sketches show how dramatically his appearance has changed in this time. While cameras are not allowed in the courtroom, sketches show a visibly different version of Combs. He has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest in September.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs doesn’t look like himself in recent court sketches
During a pre-trial hearing on April 18, Combs and his legal team were dealt a blow when a judge denied their request to delay the trial. Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal racketeering and sex trafficking.
Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom, so Combs’ altered appearance can only be viewed through court sketches. Recent images show him looking quite different than he did before his arrest. In a sketch from his April 18 court date, Combs appears thin to the point of gauntness with gray hair.
Combs’ hair was dark before his arrest, so he has either gone gray behind bars or stopped dyeing it. Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has also stated that the food has been the most challenging adjustment for him in jail.
The disgraced mogul was arrested in 2024
On Sept. 16, 2024, federal agents arrested Combs in New York after months of mounting allegations against him. He has maintained his innocence.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution,” Agnifilo said in a statement to the BBC at the time. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community.”
A judge denied Combs bail. In the months since his arrest, charges and allegations against him have continued to mount.
When will Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ court case go to trial?
Despite repeated efforts to delay, Combs’ trial is currently slated to begin on May 5. The process will begin with jury selection, which will likely take several days.
His lawyers have recently described the accusations against Combs as part of his “swinging” lifestyle.
“There’s a lifestyle, call it swingers or whatever you will, that he thought was appropriate because it was common,” Agnifilo argued, per the BBC. “Many people think it’s appropriate because it’s common.”
Combs is also reportedly likely to testify in his own defense.
“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand,” Agnifilo said on TMZ’s documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment. “I think he is very eager to tell his story.”
The charges against Combs include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
