Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Mugshot Is Going Viral for His Noticeably Altered Appearance
The public only viewed Combs through courtroom sketches during his trial, so his new mugshot is the first time people have seen him in a while. The recently released mugshot shows Combs with gray hair, looking noticeably older than before his arrest. Unsurprisingly, people have a lot of opinions about Combs’ new look.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ mugshot has people talking
CBS News obtained Combs’ mugshot from Fort Dix in New Jersey. In the photo, he stares stone-faced at the camera. Though the quality of the photo isn’t great, it’s clear that his hair and beard have gone gray. People have been quick to make fun of his aged appearance.
“That man aged several years holy s***,” wrote one Reddit user.
“Bro aged 20 years in that one year,” wrote another person.
A number of commenters simply called him old. People also joked about the quality of the image in the mugshot. Combs’ features are barely visible in the image.
“This gotta be the worst lit mugshot in history,” wrote one person.
“All the money they give cops nowadays and they’re still taking mugshots with potatoes?” joked another person.
Other images of Combs standing in the prison yard cropped up online.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ appearance in his mugshot could be impacted by his unhappiness in jail
Combs clearly did not have access to hair dye while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Stress and unhappiness could have also had something to do with his gray hair. Combs was not happy to be in jail. After he was acquitted of some charges against him, he was disappointed that he had to remain behind bars.
“Of course, you know, he’s not happy about still remaining in jail,” his friend Charlucci Finney told Law & Crime. “When the judge asked him, ‘You would like to go home, wouldn’t you?’ He was like, ‘Yes, yes, yes.’ And then to come back and they say, ‘No.’ You know, that was pretty much a let down, because we thought he was coming home.”
Combs also reportedly did not expect to spend time in prison.
His courtroom sketches also showed his changed appearance
Before Combs’ mugshot went viral, people only saw him through courtroom sketches. The sketch artist, Christine Cornell, said she felt her feelings about Combs came through in her drawings of him.
“He actually looks pretty sinister,” Cornell told NBC News. “It was one where I thought, ‘Did you cross the line, Christine? Are you letting your feelings creep in?’ Because I confess, I am having a little bit of a hard time with him.”
Courtroom sketch artist Jane Rosenberg also drew Combs during the trial. She said he saw her sketches and had notes for her.
“Soften me up a bit, you’re making me look like a koala bear,” Combs told her, per Reuters.
The courtroom sketches of Combs also depicted him with gray hair, so his appearance in the mugshot doesn’t come as a complete surprise.
