After his arrest and imprisonment, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ chances of becoming a politician are low. Combs has spoken out about politics in the past, but he once said he had no intention of ever running for office. He believed he had too quick a temper to work in politics.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs said he couldn’t be a politician

Over the years, Combs has endorsed political candidates and encouraged fans to vote. Because of his power and influence, at least before his arrest, many wondered if he would try to pivot to politics. Combs himself believed he was powerful enough to influence elections.

“I don’t answer. It would sway people,” he told the Financial Times in 2004. “If I endorse a candidate right now, I mean, the race would probably be over.”

While this potentially revealed Combs’ belief that he could win an election, he said he didn’t want to run. He didn’t think his lifestyle suited the career path. He also believed that he had too much of a temper.

“This is me doing my good thing. I like to party a little bit too hard to be in public office,” he said. “I don’t think I would be the best person to be in politics, because I would feel so passionately about something, they would probably have to pull me off somebody’s a** in the Senate.”

Combs said he wanted to stick to his career in the entertainment industry.
