Searches for ‘Euphoria Makeup’ Skyrocket Ahead of Season 3 Premiere
Over four years after the show’s second season premiered, interest in Euphoria-inspired makeup is growing. Ahead of the season three premiere, beauty experts have seen a jump in searches for makeup inspired by the show. A beauty expert shared what this might mean for the industry.
People have a renewed interest in ‘Euphoria’ style makeup
On Euphoria, characters wear bright, sparkly, and colorful makeup looks. These looks became popular when the show aired in 2019 and 2022. Now that the third season is imminent, people have a renewed interest in the style. Searches for “Euphoria Makeup” have jumped significantly in recent months.
“We’ve noticed that searches for ‘Euphoria Makeup’ are up by 235% in the last three months, signalling a clear shift towards more expressive, experimental beauty,” said Annabelle Taurua, a beauty expert with Fresha. “The show has long been known for its bold, colourful aesthetic, from dramatic winged liner and vivid inner-corner highlights to statement lips, with each look carefully crafted to reflect the characters’ emotions.”
Taurua noted that the Euphoria look is markedly different from the more muted styles that have been popular in recent years.
“This surge highlights a growing appetite for bold colour, graphic liners, and embellishment-led looks that blur the line between makeup and art, marking a clear shift away from the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic that has dominated beauty trends in recent years,” she explained. “It also taps into a wave of Y2K nostalgia, reviving the playful, experimental energy of the early 2000s, and reworking for a modern audience. “
She noticed that celebrities have started to embrace looks that would be at home on the show.
“Celebrities such as Zara Larsson are already embracing this maximalist approach, championing self-expression and creativity,” she explained. “From vibrant eye and lip looks to pops of colour in blush and playful details like face gems, the trend is all about pushing boundaries and celebrating individuality.”
She shared her predictions for what the makeup will look like on this season of ‘Euphoria’
The third season of Euphoria kicks off five years after the events of season two. The characters, who were in high school in the last season, are now adults. Taurua expects that their makeup will reflect their new stage of life.
“In the new season of Euphoria, we expect to see a continuation of the show’s signature looks, though naturally evolved to reflect the characters entering a more mature phase of life. We’ll likely see a transition from high-impact, maximalist makeup to more ‘grown-up’ interpretations of the same aesthetic, think sharper execution, cleaner lines, and more deliberate colour placement. Instead of heavy glitter and full-face embellishment, there could be a stronger focus on sculpted skin, elevated graphic liner, and strategically placed accents that still feel expressive but more controlled.”
When does the third season premiere?
The third season of Euphoria had a premiere in Hollywood on April 7. It will be available to watch on HBO Max on Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m. ET.
This is potentially the show’s final season. Stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow returned to the show.
