In late October, Hulu announced that season 6 of Only Murders in the Building had been greenlit. The upcoming season will likely have the podcasting trio investigating the possible death of Cinda Canning, a rival podcaster. While details on the storyline remain murky, we know one thing for sure. Filming for the season will take the cast out of New York City, and that could potentially cause an issue for newlyweds Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.

Season 6 of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ will take on London

Season 6 of Only Murders in the Building will find Mabel, Oliver, and Charles investigating a murder in a brand new setting, according to People. They are leaving The Arconia behind after solving the murder of their beloved doorman, Lester, in season 5. The trio is set to take on London, and keeping true to its production style, the cast will be in the city to get the job done.

While exact filming dates are unknown, the series traditionally spends several months filming scenes for each season. Season 5, for example, was filmed in New York City between March and June 2025. It is likely that the upcoming season will take just as long to film, assuming they opt to use the city of London as a backdrop in much the same way the production team has used New York City in previous seasons. The lengthy filming schedule and far-flung locale could pose a significant challenge for newlyweds Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, though.

Seeing Only Murders in the Building renewed for another season is a big accomplishment for the show’s stars, including Selena Gomez. Gomez, a newlywed, seems pretty excited about returning to the set, but the show’s new location could be problematic for her relationship. At the very least, it creates a bit of a logistical nightmare.

The couple has been in a long-distance relationship before and made it work. Instead of flying to visit Gomez, Blanco has driven across the country several times to see her in New York City. Driving to London is clearly not an option, though. He has previously visited Europe by boat with Ed Sheeran, but that’s a lengthy boat trip that Blanco likely won’t undertake multiple times during filming. The couple has not announced how they plan to make it work, but we are sure they’ll figure it out.
