Sebastian Maniscalco is known for revealing exactly what he dislikes about almost any event or moment in time. The picky Italian-American comedian has touched on his feelings about taking his shoes off, dinner parties, and mingling with families multiple times across his stand-up acts. It is, basically, what his brand is built around. Most recently, he sat down for a chat with Jimmy Fallon and revealed his most hated aspect of Thanksgiving. While it’s something you might not have thought about, you probably dislike the practice, too.

Sebastian Maniscalco shares what he hates about Thanksgiving

When most people think of Thanksgiving, they think of the food. Others think about being forced to make uncomfortable small talk with long-lost relatives who only show up on special occasions. Many people acknowledge that Thanksgiving can be one of the more awkward and uncomfortable holidays, and Sebastian Maniscalco seemingly agrees. He recently revealed what he hates about celebrating Thanksgiving.

Sebastian Maniscalco visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Because of the timing, the comedian’s feelings on the special event came up. As is typical, he was ready to share what elements of the day he finds particularly off-putting. He told Fallon that he hates it when people bring food from their house into his, joking that something is always leaking, nothing is ever recognizable as food, and that he’d rather people put their homemade items in the garbage than on his dinner table. Maniscalco expertly pointed out how many people stumble upon their beloved “family recipe” when the holiday comes up.

He considers himself the chef of the family

The Chicago-born Maniscalco might have another reason for being offended by other people’s culinary contributions to his dinner table. In previous interviews, he has made it clear that he takes pride in providing meals for his family and friends. During a chat with People in September, Maniscalco revealed that he is the cook for his family, noting that without him, no one would eat.

He said that while his wife, Lana Gomez, will enter the kitchen to bake desserts and churn out cookies, she leaves the actual meal planning to her comedian husband, when he is home, of course. The meals prepared feed the husband-and-wife duo, who met in 2009 and married in 2013, as well as their two children. The couple welcomed their daughter, Serafina, in 2017. Their son, Caruso, joined the family in 2019.
