Why Some Alan Ritchson’s Fans Don’t Think Video of Him ‘Beating up Neighbor’ Is What It Seems
A video has gone viral that appears to show actor Alan Ritchson involved in a physical fight with one of his neighbors, but not everyone is buying the story.
TMZ obtained and released the video of the alleged altercation on March 22. But after it went viral, some fans weren’t convinced it wasn’t real and was actually just a scene Ritchson was shooting for Reacher.
“This gotta be a scene,” one person wrote, while another agreed, posting, “Naaah this is from set ‘Reacher’ season 4.”
A third person chimed in, “Must be a new series being filmed lol.”
However, according to Ronnie Taylor, the neighbor seen in the video arguing with Ritchson, it was real.
Taylor told the outlet that the whole thing happened a day earlier when Ritchson was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle through the neighborhood in what he described as a disruptive manner, alleging that the star was revving the engine and speeding through the quiet Nashville suburb.
Taylor and Ritchson exchanged gestures that day, but it wasn’t until the next day that Taylor said things got physical. He claims that the following day, not only was Ritchson doing the same thing on his dirt bike as the day before, but he had his two children in tow on motorbikes as well.
The neighbor admitted that he yelled to the actor, “Can you f****** stop this please!”
Going by Taylor’s account, that’s the moment Ritchson put his hands on him. Taylor filed a police report and said that Ritchson struck him in the face and kicked him “at least four times” while he was on the ground, leaving bruises on his body.
Many fans though wanted to know what happened leading up to that moment before the video picked up the incident, saying the clip needed more context with one fuming, “Of course you guys don’t have the part that shows what caused it and automatically assume it’s all his fault. Not surprised by a clickbait channel.”
Another commented, “Yeah, what happened before that don’t jump into conclusions before you have the full TRUE FACTS and not manipulative media coverage,” while a third opined, “Something happened that’s not being shown because I’ll be damned if my bikes on the floor. A kickstand takes 1 second to pop out.”
Then on Monday, TMZ spoke to sources close to the War Machine star who insist that what happened wasn’t Ritchson’s fault, and it was actually Taylor who instigated the fight.
Those sources explained to the publication that Ritchson and his kids were riding their bikes around the Brentwood block when Taylor became “aggressive” trying to stop that, and even launched himself in front of Ritchson’s motorcycle.
“As a result, Alan crashed, falling off his motorcycle and suffering cuts and bruises, as well as a minor injury to his finger,” the sources alleged. “We’re told Ronnie dared Alan to hit him while yelling at the actor, who was still on the ground. But our sources say Alan did not take the bait and tried to defuse the situation by jumping on his bike to leave. However, Ronnie shoved Alan to the ground, prompting Alan to beat the crap out of his neighbor, which was caught on camera.”
Police are still investigating the incident at this time and no arrests have been made.
