Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been living in royal exile after King Charles stripped his brother of his remaining regal titles and evicted him from his longtime Royal Lodge home.

After years of allegations about Andrew’s involvement with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the calls for something to be done were too loud to ignore, and on Oct. 30, 2025, the Palace issued a statement that read: “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation.

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

After that announcement, there were reports that Princess Anne was “concerned” about how her younger brother was doing. According to royal expert Richard Kay, “I think Anne and [Prince] Edward, if anything, they’ve been concerned about their brother’s well-being and how he’s handling this intense pressure.”

Kay claimed that Anne continued to talk to Andrew when others would not and called him around the Christmas holiday. She allegedly offered the former prince accommodations to stay with her at her Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire.

Anne extended that offer “not just as an act of Christian charity but a willingness to surround him with family love,” Kay told the Daily Mail.

It’s unclear if the Princess Royal was offering Andrew a room in the main property where she resides or elsewhere on the estate.

However, when Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson‘s names appeared hundreds of times in the Epstein files released by the U.S. Department of Justice in late January, the no-nonsense princess distanced herself from her sibling. And Anne has not answered any questions about Andrew while attending public engagements.

On Feb. 19, Andrew was arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office. The only royal to release an official statement on that matter is King Charles, who said, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing regarding his relationship with Epstein, but has not made any public comments since his arrest.
