Most couples have been in the situation and know what it’s like when one of them is carrying on a conversation while the other is ready to leave a place. There may even be a little cue they have or some way to politely let the other know they are ready to go.

Well, if you’re a member of the royal family, you can just hop on the phone with one of your royal protection officers and have them track down your partner to move them along.

That’s what happened during one walkabout, where everyone in a large crowd gathered wanted to talk to the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton), and she was trying to do the impossible task of speaking to every single person there.

Now, a video has resurfaced showing Prince William and their three children waiting a bit before the future king had the call to the officers to retrieve his wife.

Prince William had to send protection officers to get Kate

The walkabout occurred on Christmas Day 2024, after the family attended the morning church service.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, greeted fans and well-wishers who wanted to chat with them and pass along flowers and other presents that day. William and the children stuck to the protocol by keeping things brief with the meet and greets, but Kate did not.

The video making the rounds again has more the 65,000 views and shows Kate pretty far behind her family. They are all waiting for her with armfuls of presents, but she is so caught up talking with everyone that William eventually has to phone his protection officers to collect Kate.

Another video of the moment was uploaded to TikTok, and at one point the princess can be heard saying: “I think I’ve lost my family!” Just then, a man is seen behind her, followed by another who are there to move her along.

King Charles did the same thing when Queen Camilla got caught up

The video has reminded some people of when King Charles turned around to leave after a walkabout in Wales, and his wife wasn’t next to him.

The monarch appeared a little flustered when he saw Queen Camilla was well behind him just chatting away. So he immediately turned to the men around him and asked, “Can we try to get her back again?” He then added, “I was trying to wait for her. But she goes on.”

Many of the commenters found the clip to be relatable.

One person wrote: “It’s kinda cute. Camilla wants to chat with everyone and be social … Charles is like every husband. Hahaha. Very funny.”

Another said: “They really are like every other married couple. He wants to get on, she’s enjoying the craic.”

A third added: “Just like my dad when my mum stops to talk to someone in the town and he wants to go.”

And a fourth posted: “I think that’s adorable actually. Very normal for a husband to moan about the Mrs. taking too long.”
