‘Survivor’ Host Jeff Probst Nearly Made a Cameo in Survival Horror ‘Send Help’
Jeff Probst is best known for his work on Survivor, but he nearly expanded his portfolio to include a minor role in the 2026 film Send Help. The movie, which stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien, follows the only survivors of a plane crash. McAdams’ character has auditioned for Survivor, and the film nearly brought in Probst. He shared why his part didn’t work out.
Jeff Probst almost had a part in the film ‘Send Help’
Probst has hosted Survivor since 2000. The show, which is now in its 50th season, was a favorite of McAdams’ Send Help character, Linda. He nearly made an appearance in the film, but the Survivor filming schedule got in the way.
“Sam Raimi offered me a small part in that, to play myself at the end, and we could not work it out schedule-wise, because we were shooting [Survivor 50],” he said. “Oh, I know. That’s Sam Raimi! I was like, ‘Wait a minute! He wants me to be in his movie?’ So, we did talk. We did some cross-promotion together — and I got to meet him over Zoom — and I was very enthusiastic to be a part of it.”
The film’s writers, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, gave insight into what Probst’s cameo would have entailed.
“FACT CHECK: True!” they wrote on X. “We wrote a cameo for him at the very end. Playing himself. If you’ve seen it you know where. He says ‘Nice shot, Linda!’ and we see they’re on the same celebrity golf team. We couldn’t work out the schedule.”
Survivor: 50 is currently airing on CBS on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
