T-Hood Was a Victim in Another Shooting Incident Months Before He Was Killed
T-Hood, whose legal name was Tevin Hood, was killed earlier this month in a shooting that Georgia police are now labeling as possible self-defense. It wasn’t the first time he was a victim of gun violence, though. In fact, T-Hood appeared at an emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds just four months before he was shot and killed inside his home. The Atlanta-based rapper posted photos from a hospital bed days after the still-unresolved incident.
T-Hood’s April shooting remains unsolved
Tevin Hood was the victim of gun violence in late April 2025, just months before he died from gunshot wounds. TMZ has discovered that DeKalb County Police were called to a gas station on reports of gunshots on April 28, 2025. According to the outlet, police found a woman suffering from a single gunshot wound at the scene, but noted that additional casings were found.
T-Hood fled the scene and took himself to a hospital. He was admitted. While he never shared exactly what happened, social media updates suggest he spent several days being treated. In one upload, he is seen recording from his hospital bed, with a drain and a drainage bag visible. Several days later, in early May, he uploaded a video from his “first show back.”
The regional rapper really leaned into his brush with death. He shared photos from an album, with cover art depicting T-Hood as a ghost in a cemetery, just a couple of months later. The upload came in July, roughly a month before he was killed. Police told TMZ that the April shooting case remains unsolved and the investigation is active. Further details were not available.
Police believe the fatal shooting inside his home in August was self-defense
It’s unclear what led to the April shooting that left T-Hood hospitalized. Still, police may have already figured out the motive for the gun violence that took his life. On August 13, just four days after the incident, WCNC spoke to police who stated that they believed the shooting was self-defense, and indicated that the investigation was moving in that direction.
According to the outlet, the shooting occurred during a domestic violence incident. Ky Frost, the son of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta stars Kirk and Rasheeda Frost, is named in the incident report. He has not been charged. Kirk Frost’s daughter, Kelcie Frost, was reportedly dating T-Hood at the time of his death. Several reports suggest the tumultuous relationship had turned violent. The death is still being investigated.
