Taylor Swift’s Engagement Watch Matches Her Ring; Here’s How Much It’s Worth
People are still buzzing about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s engagement after they nearly broke the internet with that announcement.
On Aug. 26, the Kansas City Chiefs star and “Karma” songstress shared a carousel of photos on Instagram with the playful caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
One of the pics shows a close-up of Swift’s stunning cushion-cut diamond ring that experts estimate to be between 8 and 12 carats and costing between $700,000 and $1.2 million. Because the pop superstar’s ring was the focal point of the pic, many didn’t even notice the gorgeous watch Swift was also rocking in those engagement snaps.
Now, the fine jewelry experts at the U.K. retailer Steven Stone are taking a closer look at that timepiece to estimate how much it’s worth.
Maxwell Stone told Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “In her engagement photos, Taylor Swift can be seen wearing the Cartier Santos Demoiselle — a petite yellow gold timepiece adorned with diamonds and distinguished by its signature square dial. The pop icon was first spotted with the watch around Christmas last year, with speculation that it may have been a romantic gift from her now-fiancé.
“Although the model has been discontinued, it originally retailed for $27,300. Today, depending on condition, it can fetch closer to $50,000 on the resale market — a figure that could easily climb higher thanks to Taylor’s undeniable influence as a trendsetter.
