Taylor Swift Hopes to Be ‘Less Intrusive’ at NFL Games This Season After Negative Attention
When Taylor Swift attends an NFL game, viewers are sure to know about it. She appears on screen multiple times to the delight of her fans and, occasionally, the irritation of some football fans. This season, though, Swift reportedly hopes to attend games without so much attention on her.
Taylor Swift doesn’t want to have that much attention on her at NFL games this season
Swift and Travis Kelce have been together for three NFL seasons, and they are now engaged. Their relationship has been the subject of much public attention, something Swift is reportedly hoping to avoid this football season.
“Taylor’s taking a different approach to football season this year,” a source told Star. “The previous two years were a whirlwind. This time around, she wants to be less intrusive.”
The source went on to say that both Swift and Kelce want to keep the attention on the game. She has been booed at several games, and she doesn’t want fans to blame her if the Kansas City Chiefs don’t perform well this season. It could be Kelce’s last.
“Neither she or Travis wants their engagement to overshadow the game,” the source said. “Travis wants to get to the Super Bowl and win it this time, and Taylor doesn’t want to give the arrogant football fans any reason to blame her in case the Chiefs lose.”
At a recent game, Swift appeared to watch from behind a protective screen to keep attention off herself.
The couple enjoyed stepping away from the spotlight for a time
Though Swift and Kelce’s engagement, her upcoming album, and a new football season have brought attention back on them, they reportedly enjoyed lying low in the spring.
“They have been traveling nonstop and very much enjoy it,” a source told People, adding, “They are making the most of their time off together. They are hanging out with friends, too. It’s a special time for them.”
They’d both had a busy several years, and they wanted some private time to relax.
“They value the same things,” the source noted. “Right now, the focus is very much on private time out of the spotlight.”
Travis Kelce said Taylor Swift works harder onstage than he does in the NFL
Swift wants the attention on Kelce’s efforts on the football field during his games. He’s similarly supportive of her career. Kelce said that watching her in her Eras Tour astounded him.
“She may not think of herself as an athlete,” he told GQ in 2025. “She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I’ve seen what she goes through. I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing.”
He said he thought her performances might be harder than what he does as a professional athlete.
“It is a football-field-sized computer,” he said. “You take that into Singapore, where it is scorching hot, and all of a sudden you’re feeling the fumes from the computer and you’re feeling the fumes from the sun and you’re doing a show for three hours with a lot of energy, bringing it every single song. That is arguably more exhausting than how much I put in on a Sunday, and she’s doing it three, four, five days in a row.”
