Taylor Swift, Martin Short, Steve Martin and More Gave Speeches at Selena Gomez’s Wedding Celebrations

When Selena Gomez announced her engagement in 2024, Taylor Swift jokingly offered to serve as the flower girl at the wedding. While it’s not clear if Swift fulfilled those duties, she did give a speech at the wedding. Gomez and producer Benny Blanco’s wedding was a star-studded affair, and Swift was just one of several famous faces who spoke about the couple.

Swift and Gomez have been friends for years, bonding when they both dated Jonas brothers. Though those relationships didn’t last, their friendship did. Years later, Swift gave a speech at Gomez’s wedding.

“Taylor gave an extremely heartfelt speech at the wedding,” a source told Us Weekly. “She went into depth and talked about how over the years she saw Selena on the floor crying, mentioning exes, Selena having a broken heart and saying how happy she is that Selena has Benny now.”

Ed Sheeran, a friend of both Gomez and Blanco, also spoke. Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, and stepfather, Brian Teefey, spoke, as did Blanco’s parents, Sandra and Andrew Levin. 

The speeches from loved ones added to the warm atmosphere in the room.

“They were glowing all night, and both Selena and Benny couldn’t stop smiling,” a source told People. “There was so much love in the room.”

At the rehearsal dinner, Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short gave a joint speech. They also attended the wedding itself, which the insider said was a fun affair.

“At the reception, everyone was letting loose and celebrating them well into the night,” the source said. “The vibe was so much fun.”

Other celebrity guests included Paul Rudd, Cara Delevigne, Zoe Saldaña, Paris Hilton, and some Wizards of Waverly Place cast members.
