Taylor Swift May Dropped Easter Eggs About Headlining the Super Bowl During Her ‘New Heights’ Appearance
Taylor Swift shared a lot of information about her career and life during her recent appearance on New Heights. Most listeners were hyper-focused on details about her personal life and her romance with Travis Kelce. Swift might have used that fact to slip some Easter eggs into the chat without many people noticing. Some people were paying attention, though. A theory that Taylor Swift hinted at her involvement in the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show has emerged. The clues are pretty telling, and the musical artist loves dropping Easter eggs.
Fans think Taylor Swift dropped Easter eggs about performing at the Super Bowl
As a musical artist, Taylor Swift has done it all. Well, she’s almost done it all. She has yet to perform at the Super Bowl, but that might change soon. At least, fans are convinced it will. During her appearance on New Heights, Taylor Swift made several interesting comments, and fans are sure they hint at an upcoming Super Bowl performance.
E! News points out that Swift discussed how often she thinks about making sourdough bread these days. While the artist is known for baking and cooking, that might not be what her bread comments are about. Fans think it’s an Easter egg. She said she thinks about bread “60% of the time.” The upcoming Super Bowl is Super Bowl 60. Levi Stadium, the home of the San Francisco 49ers, is hosting the event. The team’s mascot is Sourdough Sam.
Jessica Benson of The Jessica Benson Show also noted that Swift thanked Jason Kelce for screaming for 47 seconds. Benson, who did her research, noted that Swift’s 47th stop on the Eras tour took her to Santa Clara’s Levi Stadium. She played two sold-out shows at the stadium in July before moving on to SoFi Stadium. Interestingly enough, SoFi Stadium will host the 61st Super Bowl in 2027.
Why hasn’t Taylor Swift performed at the sporting event before?
While the NFL has not yet announced who will headline the upcoming Super Bowl, Taylor Swift would probably be on the shortlist. According to several sources, the iconic pop artist has been asked to perform multiple times, but she’s always turned it down. Scheduling conflicts and a sponsorship conflict were the main reasons why she turned down the chance to headline the halftime show in the past. That won’t be a problem come Feb. 8, 2026.
According to Time, the Grammy winner turned down the oppurtunity prior to 2022 because of the show’s sponsor. Swift has a longstanding sponsorship with Coca-Cola, and the halftime show was previously sponsored by Pepsi, creating a conflict. In 2022, Apple began sponsoring the show, and while Swift was, once again, asked to headline, she turned down the offer as she was recording albums and planning a tour at the time. In 2024, she was busy with the Eras tour, and in 2025, she had just wrapped up the 149-show journey across the globe.
Internet sleuths won’t ned to wait too long to find out if the theory is correct. The NFL typically announces the planned halftime show in September, once the NFL season has begun. The season kicks off on Sept. 4. Swift’s boyfriend will take the field on Sept. 5 for his season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.
