We just closed the book on 2025, which many have referred to as “the year of the pop star.” That’s because every day, no matter where we looked, headlines about our favorite recording artists dominated the news.

Whether it was a new album, record-breaking tours, most streams, relationship news, baby news, or joining the billionaires’ club, pop stars did it all. But who was the most Googled singer of 2025?

It should come as no surprise that Taylor Swift topped that list, raking in over 8.09 million average monthly searches. Last year, the pop icon put out her record-breaking 12th album The Life of a Showgirl, reclaimed her masters, released her End of an Era documentary, and got engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce.

Swift reflected on her impressive accomplishments and all that happened in 2025 while on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, telling the host, “That’s a good year. Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back — those were two things that just never could have happened. They could have just never happened. It wasn’t like, ‘It’s just a matter of time.’ Both of those things could have just never arrived in my life, and I’m so grateful for both of those things happening.”

While no one had a year quite like Swift, Sabrina Carpenter was a close second and garnered 6.88 million average monthly searches. She also released another studio album, had a successful tour, debuted her latest fragrance Lemon Pie, picked up a few GRAMMYs and VMAs, and was named Variety’s “Hitmaker of the Year.”

Other stars on the 2025 Top 10 Most Googled Female Music Artists in the World list include Billie Eilish in third place with 5.02 million average monthly searches, Ariana Grande with 4.96 million average monthly searches, Lady Gaga with 3.40 million average monthly searches, Rihanna with 3.34 million average monthly searches, Dua Lipa 2.66 million average monthly searches, and Jennifer Lopez 2.58 million average monthly searches.

Selena Gomez also made the list with 3.83 million average monthly searches, and joined her fellow singers who put out a new album with the release of I Said I Love You First. She also got married to her collaborator and producer, Benny Blanco.

Beyoncé landed in the 10th spot on the most Googled list with 2.23 million average monthly searches. Queen Bey had a landmark year as well, topping charts with her Cowboy Carter tour (the highest-grossing country tour ever), and making history at the Grammys by winning Album of the Year and Best Country Album, and becoming a billionaire.

“In 2025, pop stardom is no longer just about hit songs. It’s about total cultural presence,” said Silvana Vladimirova, data analyst at PlayersTime. “The artists commanding the most attention are those who live across platforms, blending music with fashion, business, controversy, and carefully curated personal narratives. Search trends show that fans aren’t only looking for new releases; they’re tracking moments, milestones, and meaning … a legacy that refuses to fade, or a star expanding into a full-scale brand. The next generation of dominant artists will be those who understand that visibility is as valuable as sound, and who know how to turn attention into longevity.”
