On Friday, June 6, Taylor Swift petitioned for a temporary restraining order against her alleged stalker, Brian Jason Wagner. Wagner has traveled to Swift’s Los Angeles home on several occasions. He also made claims that he shares a child with her. A judge granted the singer a restraining order after she cited her fear of imminent harm in the filing.

Taylor Swift gained a temporary restraining order against her stalker

On June 9, a judge granted Swift a temporary restraining order against Wagner. He recently traveled to her LA home and made claims about their relationship.

“During each of these visits, I am informed that Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person, all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality,” Swift said in the petition, per Rolling Stone.

Wagner allegedly brought a glass bottle to Swift’s home on one occasion and illegally obtained an identification card that connected him to her address. Swift said his ability to find her address concerned her.

“I do not share publicly where I reside and have never shared my address or the location of my Los Angeles residence with Mr. Wagner,” she wrote. “Therefore, the fact that Mr. Wagner has determined where I reside and visited the property several times, refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family.”

Swift said Wagner came to her home twice this May. She also alleged that he reached out to her staff about her.

“The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner’s inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm,” Swift said.

Another one of Taylor Swift’s alleged stalkers was arrested in 2024

Wagner is not the first alleged stalker with whom Swift has dealt. In 2024, a 33-year-old man was arrested twice after lurking outside her home in New York.

“He’s been around since Christmas time,” a neighbor told The New York Post. “The first couple times we saw him, he was sleeping on our stoop or the neighbor’s stoop smoking constantly.”

Police arrested him twice in three days.

“I just saw him digging through this dumpster, taking out some blankets and then he just went and sat down on the loading dock a few doors down [from Swift’s apartment]. My heart dropped,” the neighbor said, adding, “I just thought, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe this guy is back! I just want to never see this person again.’ I hope he gets the help he needs but he needs to leave our little street alone.”

She has spoken about her fears as a person in the public eye

Swift said that years in the public eye have taught her to prepare for the worst.

“I carry QuikClot army grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds,” she told Elle. “Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I’ve ever had online. You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things.”

She said she tried not to let her legitimate fears get in the way of her life.

“Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I’ve witnessed and the faith I have in humanity,” she said. “We have to live bravely in order to truly feel alive, and that means not being ruled by our greatest fears.”
