Taylor Swift Shines and Sparkles as She ‘Shows Solidarity’ With Blake Lively
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce nearly broke the internet with their engagement announcement in August. Then, Swifties had another thing to celebrate in October when the singer released her highly anticipated album The Life of a Showgirl.
Almost immediately, fans began dissecting the lyrics in each track, including who Swift was referring to in the song “Cancelled.” Many believe it’s about Blake Lively with the lyrics: “Good thing I like my friends cancelled/I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal/Like my whiskey sour/And poison thorny flowers.”
Lively served as the face of Gucci’s 2012 campaign. She also founded her own brand of premium alcoholic beverages called Betty Buzz and owned a flower shop while portraying florist Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us.
Numerous reports allege that the two had a falling out over Swift being pulled into Lively and director Justin Baldoni’s legal drama. However, Swift’s fiancé, Travis, and his brother, Jason Kelce, called the Gossip Girl actor a “friend” on a recent episode of their podcast.
In the first episode of the siblings’ New Heights Film Club, they reviewed Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Travis and Jason had nothing but praise for Swift’s frenemy, who played Bridget Vreeland in the 2005 movie.
“It is also the film debut of our friend Blake Lively. She killed it. Absolutely wonderful as Bridget,” Jason said.
“Killed it,” Travis chimed in. “I might be a little biased, but I thought Bridget’s story was the most relatable and probably the most fun.”
Jason shared that he identified most with Lively’s character. The retired NFL player joked that the only bad thing about her performance was her running form in the film. He stated, “Bridget, she kind of struck me, obviously tall, strong, bold, beautiful, athletic. I got to admit, not the best run. Blake, I love you, it does not strike me as a star athlete run.”
Furthermore, fans have pointed out that there may not really be any bad blood between Lively and Taylor. In the artwork for her album, the “Wood” singer wears something on her wrist that is nearly identical to one Lively sports. Many now believe that could be the pop star’s way of “showing solidarity” with the actress, leaving them wanting to know more about the bracelet.
The jewelry and diamond experts at the U.K. retailer Steven Stone took a closer look at the Lorraine Schwartz bracelet and shared the details with Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
Maxwell Stone said, “Taylor’s eye-catching bracelet features oversized pavé pink sapphire circles interlinked with glittering diamond rounds — a modern yet timeless design that exudes both elegance and boldness.
“The piece appears to be a sentimental tribute to her best friend, Blake, who has previously been spotted wearing the same striking design. Interestingly, a shot of Taylor wearing the bracelet is currently featured on Spotify alongside her track ‘Cancelled!'”
The expert added, “It seems like a clear show of solidarity with Blake, who’s recently come under media scrutiny amid an ongoing legal dispute with director and co-star Justin Baldoni. Steven Stone estimates that the bracelet is worth around $250,000.”
