August was a big month for Taylor Swift, as she announced both a new album and an engagement to Travis Kelce. So far, fans know far more about the album, The Life of a Showgirl, than the upcoming wedding. Still, Swift could be dropping some hints about her marriage in her newest album. A marketing expert shared why the color Swift chose to represent her album could hint at when she will choose to get married.

Taylor Swift recently announced a new album and her engagement

In a recent appearance on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Swift announced her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. She said she is looking forward to sharing the album with fans, as it represents an exciting period in her life.

“This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” she said. “It just comes from, like, the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life.”

Just weeks later, Swift had more big news for fans. In a joint Instagram post with Kelce, she announced their engagement.

Taylor Swift’s color palette for the new album could hint at when she will marry Travis Kelce

Swift’s upcoming album — and her new era — has an official color: Portofino orange. She shared why she picked the color.

“I’ve just always liked it, Jason,” she said on the podcast. “It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt. And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”

Branding and marketing expert Liam Smith with Aura Print thinks the color could also predict when Swift plans to get married.

“Drawing from the extravagant florals in Taylor and Travis’s engagement announcement and Taylor’s recent nod to ‘Showgirl Orange’, the couple’s wedding will likely embrace the beauty of fall,” he said. “Picture a fairytale setting filled with seasonal flora and foliage, romantic garden touches, and a warm, golden palette that brings both elegance and intimacy to the celebration.”

He predicted the fall wedding could take place in coastal Rhode Island, New York City, London, or Nashville.

Smith said the particular shade of orange Swift is using for her album will likely be very trendy in the second half of 2025.

“Brands used to pick a color and it would be years before we associated that color with the brand — think Chanel’s little black dress,” he said. “Nowadays, it seems audiences are increasingly paying attention to color, latching onto it in a bid to define an era, a movement, or a moment in time … Now, it’s ‘Showgirl Orange’ who stands ready to dominate the latter half of the year, bringing theatrical energy and high impact visibility to the season’s cultural landscape.”

Already, the color has been popping up in the fashion world.

“Historically, Swift’s genius has always been in making color an era’s emotional signature, so fans don’t just hear an album, they see it, and it’s so accessible, fans can take part themselves by incorporating the color into their fashion, decoration, social media,” he said. “This consistent defining visual coding creates instant recall and strengthens fan identity. However, ‘Showgirl Orange’ is predicted to bleed into mainstream trends, bigger than her color palettes ever have before — with it already being spotted on the autumn/winter ‘25 runways, as well as the Pantone color, named ‘2026.’”
