Taylor Swift will release her upcoming album in October, and fans are already looking forward to her performances. Swift’s Eras Tour was a record-breaking global phenomenon. While it was a major success, it was also exhausting, so Swift might pursue a different performance style for The Life of a Showgirl. A marketing expert shared what she might choose to do in lieu of a tour.

Taylor Swift’s live performances for her new album could look different than the Eras tour

Swift worked on The Life of a Showgirl during her Eras Tour, drawing from the exciting period in her life as inspiration.

“I would be playing shows. I would do, like, three shows in a row. I’d have three days off,” she said on the New Heights podcast (per Rolling Stone). “I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and was actually working on this. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”

While a major tour inspired the album, she may not embark on one after she releases it. Branding and marketing expert Liam Smith at Aura Print said Swift’s latest era could look very different from her last. He shared what he thinks fans can expect given the title of her album.

“What can we expect in this ‘Showgirl Orange’ era? A surge in burnt tangerine lip colours, echoing the shade Swift wore in her New Heights appearance?” he wondered. “TikTok will light up with ‘showgirl fit’ styling videos, as fans reimagine showgirl-core with a modern twist. And in true showgirl fashion, it wouldn’t be surprising if Swift leaned into the spectacle with a Las Vegas residency in place of a traditional world tour.”

At this point, Swift has not released any information about a tour or residency.

The Sphere said Taylor Swift is not planning any performances there

Any residency for Swift would need to have enough space for her many fans. As a result, some have wondered if she plans to have a residency at the Sphere, which can hold up to 20,000 people. Some reports claimed Swift’s team was looking into the venue.

“Taylor’s team has been talking about Vegas gigs in private for a while, including at a dinner a few months back in Nashville with other music managers,” a source told the U.S. Sun. “Given how unique Sphere is from a production perspective, fans will no doubt be foaming at the mouth to see how Taylor could potentially use the venue.”

A rep for the venue said they have not spoken with Swift’s team about a residency, though.

“While we love and respect Taylor Swift, we are not in conversations with her team about a residency at Sphere,” they said, per StyleCaster.

She said her new album is more exuberant than the last

Whatever Swift chooses to do for Life of a Showgirl shows, they will likely be fun for fans. Swift said the new album is full of upbeat songs.
