The Best and Worst Moment of ‘And Just Like That..’ Season 3 Premiere
The wait is officially over. And Just Like That… has returned for season 3, releasing its premiere episode on May 29. The iconic Sex and the City reboot promises plenty of fun and drama as the summer unfolds, and we can see the potential already. Not everything we saw in the premiere episode was perfect, though. We have a favorite scene and a hated scene to share.

We absolutely loved seeing Charlotte York defend Richard Burton in the ‘And Just Like That…’ season 3 premiere
Charlotte York’s goal at one point was to be a wife, mother, and part-time bowl glazer. She eventually became a wife and mother, and not just to human children. Charlotte has always been fiercely protective of her kids, her friends, and her animals. She is no different in the premiere episode of season 3.

In episode 1, Charlotte is aghast to learn that her dog, Richard Burton, is being accused of attacking a chihuahua who frequents the same park. The owner of the chihuahua, Peanut, launches a smear campaign against Richard Burton. Watching Charlotte defend her “sweet angel baby” with the same gusto she would defend her children made us chuckle. Sure, the storyline might seem a bit over the top, but it’s the quintessential Charlotte-ness of it all that we love.
We didn’t need to see Aidan Shaw lick his hand before pleasuring himself
There were a lot of great moments in the season 3 premiere episode of And Just Like That…, but there were a couple of duds, too. We were initially excited to see Aidan Shaw’s face so soon in the season, but we aren’t in love with the way we saw it. We love Aidan and love the idea of Carrie and Aidan rekindling their romance. Still, we absolutely did not need to see Aidan Shaw lick his hand before masturbating while sitting in his truck in a field somewhere on the outskirts of Norfolk, Virginia.

Filming a sex scene is never easy, and a phone sex scene has the ability to come across as particularly awkward. Still, this scene was worse than most. The writing team certainly was going for a longing sexiness, but it missed the mark. The setup was terrible, and in the end, it didn’t actually seem like something Aidan, ever sensitive and loving, would do.
With that being said, the series has pulled off phone sex scenes with expert precision in the past. A sexy phone moment between Carrie and Mr. Big occurred in season 6 of Sex and the City, and Miranda got down and dirty with a lawyer from Chicago in an earlier season of the original series. We know the actors can do it well, but this attempt was not it.
