The Jenelle Evans and David Eason Reconcilation Timeline You Have All Been Waiting for
Love appears to be in the air again for David Eason and Jenelle Evans, no matter what the former Teen Mom 2 star has to say. While the controversial duo made their relationship drama everyone’s business for the better part of two years, complete with arrests, restraining orders, and a finalized divorce, they appear to be putting all that aside now. While Evans and Eason have not confirmed that thier giving love another shot, the proof is pretty compelling. We’ve compiled a timeline of events that could prove they’re back together.
A brief overview of Jenelle Evans and David Eason’s relationship
Just to make sure everyone is up to speed, let’s take a look back at how the pair initially got together. Jenelle Evans and David Eason met on a dating app back in 2015. She introduced him to the Teen Mom viewers almost immediately. In January 2017, they took things to the next level by welcoming their daughter together. Eason has two children from previous relationships, as does Evans.
In September 2017, they made things official and got married. Eason’s on-screen behavior became so harrowing that crew members refused to work with him by 2019. The filming issues seemed to strain the marriage. In 2019, he shot and killed the family dog. MTV parted ways with Evans following the dog’s death, and she briefly moved ot Tennessee, claiming she wished to get away from Eason. The split, which included a restraining order against Eason, didn’t last terribly long. She was back in North Carolina by early 2020.
In February 2024, Evans filed for legal separation after Eason was arrested in late 2023 for assaulting her eldest child. There was plenty of drama in between, too. Eason moved on with Kenleigh Heatwole, and Evans moved out to Las Vegas to be close to her then-manager-turned-lover, August Keen. They finalized thier divorce in the summer of 2025. Heatwole and Eason split in September 2025, while Evans and Keen broke up in January 2025. Eason’s criminal case remains active.
The first sign that the couple was back together
While David Eason’s relationship with Kenleigh Heatwole ended back in the fall of 2025, the first indication that Evans and Eason had reconnected didn’t come until the new year. In January 2026, Eason appeared to make a special trip to Las Vegas to spend some time with his daughter, Ensley Eason. The trip coincided with her hospitalization.
While he was there, he appeared to make amends with Evans, too. The pair were spotted dining together, and Ensley briefly shared a video of her parents interacting happily. Evans was quick to insist on social media that she and Eason were not back together after reports of their reconciliation surfaced. She lambasted The Ashley Reality Roundup Group for its reporting on the situation and claimed they were just co-parenting.
While she insisted they were not back together, Evans suddenly had an interest in defending David Eason against Kenleigh Heatwole. Fans took notice, noting that her defense of David was similar to her odd defense of Nathan Griffith when he was arrested for domestic violence. Evans had long insisted she had no contact with either man before she came out swinging in their defense.
David Eason spent Valentine’s Day in Las Vegas
David Eason’s stay with Jenelle Evans appeared to last about a week before he was spotted enroute to North Carolina once again. You’d think that might be where the story ends, but it is not. The former flames only spent a couple of weeks in separate states before Eason showed back up in Las Vegas. The U.S. Sunreported that Evans had flown her former husband out to celebrate Valentine’s Day with her.
Evans documented the holiday but obscured her “date’s” face in social media uploads. It is very easy to tell she was clearly spending time with Eason. In several uploads from the week, Eason’s uniquely tattooed hands are visible in her content. On March 1, Eason used his own social media accounts to stoke the flames of speculation. He shared a series of photos from a ski resort in Nevada, making it clear he is out West with his former wife.
Kenleigh Heatwole is crashing out
Jenelle Evans is still not revealing whether or not she’s reconnecting with her former husband, but that former husband’s ex-girlfriend is certainly making it known. While Evans and Eason appear to be spending lots of time together in Las Vegas, Kenleigh Heatwole is crashing out on X (formerly Twitter) over the reconnection.
On February 22, Heatwole shared a photo of herself wearing “his beanie” despite claiming she’s currently in a relationship. She took to social media later in the month to share text messages between herself and Eason while they were together. The messages were about Evans. More recently, she claimed Eason “fumbled” her to get back with his ex.
