Jasveen Sangha’s name was largely unknown to the world just a few years ago. After the death of Matthew Perry and her arrest, Sangha became known as the “Ketamine Queen.” Now she has faced her day in court. The drug dealer who was charged with distributing the drugs that led to the Friends star’s death will spend the next 15 years behind bars.

Jasveen Sangha sentenced to 15 years behind bars

Jasveen Sangha has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for her role in Matthew Perry’s death. Sangha was in court on April 8 for sentencing and opted to speak on her own behalf. During the proceedings, she acknowledged her role in Perry’s death and said she had made horrible decisions. Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett handed down the sentence after statements from Sangha, as well as victim statements from Perry’s family, including his stepfather, Keith Morrison.

Sangha’s attorneys previously argued that she should be sentenced to time served. She has been in police custody since her August 2024 indictment. According to the Associated Press, Sangha’s attorney, in a pre-sentencing filing, argued that the international drug dealer had never been arrested before and was unlikely to return ot a life of crime if she were sentenced leniently. Clearly, the judge did not agree. Prosecutors argued that Sangha dealt drugs to high-profile clients, including Perry, to fund her jetsetting lifestyle. Sangha’s attorney was requesting a sentence of less than two years, when you consider the time already served.

The ‘Ketamine Queen’ was the last to plead guilty, but not the last to be sentenced

Sangha was the last of five people charged in Perry’s death to enter a guilty plea. She pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of ketamine, one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury, and one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises in September 2025. The plea was entered nearly two years after Perry died of an overdose inside his Pacific Palisades home. While she was the final defendant to enter a plea, she is not the last one to be sentenced.

Sangha’s harsh sentence is just the third one issued in connection with the actor’s overdose death. Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s assistant and the man who injected the fatal dose, has not yet been sentenced. He entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death. His sentencing date is set for later this month.

Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Dr. Mark Chavez have both been sentenced after entering their own guilty pleas. Plasencia was sentenced to 30 months behind bars after he admitted to sourcing the ketamine that killed Perry. Chavez was sentenced to home detention and probation after cooperating with authorities.
