The Many Mugshots of Bravo: The Long List of Arrests that Wendy Ostefo Just Joined
Bravo is well-known for bringing its viewers some of the most animated and outrageous characters in reality TV history. The Real Housewives franchise has offered hundreds of hours of top-notch entertainment, but sometimes the stars get a little out of hand. There have been a lot of Bravo stars arrested over the years, and we have to add one more to the list. Just days after season 10 of The Real Housewives of Potomac hit the air, Wendy Ostefo found herself in handcuffs. The Bravo star, along with her husband, Eddie Osefo, is facing numerous fraud charges. Osefo’s legal troubles are serious, but she’s not the only star to face legal drama with Bravo cameras tagging along. In fact, so many stars from the network have been arrested that we can’t help but wonder where they are finding these people..
Wendy Osefo has been arrested on fraud charges
It is another fraud arrest for the stars of Bravo. Wendy Ostefo and her husband, Eddie Ostefo, were arrested in Westminster, Maryland, on October 9. The political commentator and her entrepreneur husband were taken in by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office after a lengthy investigation into a burglary claim they filed in 2024.

According to TMZ, the couple filed an insurance claim after alleging their home was burglarized while they were vacationing. They submitted that claim, for various high-priced items, in April 2024. However, police now believe the couple staged the burglary, and none of the items they claimed were stolen were taken. The items totaled nearly $500,000. If convicted, they could face years behind bars, but Ostefo isn’t the first person from the iconic Bravo franchise to be arrested.
These Housewives have also been arrested while appearing on a Bravo show
Wendy Osefo’s arrest might be the most recent legal run-in for a member of the Real Housewives franchise. Still, she’s not the first Bravo star to face some serious charges. In fact, one of Osefo’s own castmates was recently incarcerated.
Karen Huger was downgraded to a guest for season 10 of The Real Housewives of Potomac after her prison term kept her from filming the entire season. Huger was sentenced to two years, with one year suspended, for driving under the influence in February 2025. She was set to serve an entire year, but was released in early September after serving just six months of the sentence. The conviction was the result of a 2024 crash that left Huger’s car in flames. The accident was a single-car accident. Huger was not hurt.
Aside from Huger, Jen Shah and Teresa Giudice both served time. Their incarcerations took place in federal prisons, though. Shah, a former The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, is currently serving a six-year prison sentence. She was convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. The conviction stems from her role in a phone scam that targeted the elderly. While she was initially supposed to be jailed until 2028, her sentence has been reduced for good behavior. Still, a return to Bravo appears to be off the table.
Teresa Giudice, like Shah, spent time in federal prison for fraud. Giudice, along with her husband, Joe Giudice, was convicted of bankruptcy fraud, in addition to mail, bank, and wire fraud. A federal judge sentenced her to 15 months in jail in 2014. She served around 11 months of her sentence at FCI Danbury. Her then-husband served 36 of his 41-month sentence. Joe and Teresa divorced in 2020.
There are additional arrests in the Bravo universe
A handful of fraud charges on one network seems like a lot. Believe it or not, those aren’t the only arrests there have been, either. Gina Kirschenheiter, best known for her role on The Real Housewives of Orange County, ended up in jail in 2019. She pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. Shannon Beador has had a DUI arrest of her own.
Luann De Lesseps, the Real Housewives of New York alum who loves to claim her royalty connection, found herself in handcuffs in 2017. Florida police charged her with several misdemeanors, including battery of an officer, after a wild night in Florida. The Los Angeles Police slapped Kim Richards with similar charges two years earlier in Beverly Hills after an altercation at a hotel. A few months later, Richards was once again arrested, but this time for inexplicably shoplifting at a Target. She was briefly on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The Housewives aren’t the only ones finding themselves on the wrong side of the law, either. Other Bravo stars have gotten in on the fun, too. The LAPD arrested James Kennedy on suspicion of domestic violence after an argument. Nothing came of it. Charges against the Vanderpump Rules star were dropped. Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis was, however, charged and convicted of a DUI in 2024. We suspect there are probably more arrests to come. We’ll just have to stay tuned.
