The Studio Audience for the Season Finale of ‘The Golden Bachelor’ Included Feuding Exes
The finale of The Golden Bachelor season 2 was a bit non-traditional. The season didn’t end with an engagement or even a choice. Still, it did end with a happy couple. Mel Owens and Peg Munson are very much together and figuring out how their relationship is going to work. They chatted about that during their interview on “After the Final Rose.” While Peg and Mel seem to be pretty happy, there were a few people in the audience who might not believe in the dating competition’s process. Golden exes Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner were both on hand. We couldn’t help but notice they were seated in very different sections.

Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner both turned up for the filming of “After the Final Rose,” but it’s clear that the former flames are keeping their distance from each other. For reasons that are almost inexplicable, Jesse Palmer called out the former lead by name, noting he was in the audience with his new fiancée, Lana Sutton. Palmer claims he’s “excited” for the pair, who met about six months after Turner and Theresa Nist filed for divorce. He pointed out that several men and women from the franchise were also in the audience, but failed to mention the winner of season 1 of The Golden Bachelor by name. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t there, though.
Fans were quick to notice that Theresa Nist was seated among the former contestants, right next to season 1 runner-up, Leslie Fhima. She and Fhima were sitting in a completely different section from Turner, who appeared to be sequestered along with Sutton. There was a good reason to keep them apart, too. Turner and Nist are feuding. Leslie Fhima has also had some negative feelings about Turner over the last couple of years.
Why are the famous exes feuding?
The taping for “After the Final” rose could have gotten really awkward, really quick if Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner had been seated near each other. The former flames are currently feuding. It is obvious that neither one of them is at all interested in even pretending to have had an amicable split. Turner released a memoir in which he attacks Nist’s character. He also questions whether he should have picked Leslie Fhima in the first place.
For her part, Nist went on Dear Shandy to break down every moment in Turner’s memoir that she claims is a lie. Nist has maintained that she would have preferred if Turner had just told her he didn’t want to get married. She claims he acted pretty terribly during their short-lived union. With Turner’s third marriage on the horizon, it doesn’t look like they’ll ever smooth things over. Bachelor Nation fans are fine with it.
