The ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star That No One Was Looking for Has Returned to Instagram
Jeremy Calvert is one of the most mysterious former Teen Mom 2 stars. Leah Messer’s second husband suddenly disappeared from social media several years ago. Everything that people have heard about him since has been largely against their will. That all changed a couple of days ago. Calvert suddenly resurfaced on Instagram, updating followers quickly on his whereabouts, before he went private again. The public update was strange, to say the least.
Jeremy Calvert hasn’t been on Instagram in years
Jeremy Calvert appeared on Teen Mom 2 from 2012, when he married Leah Messer, until 2019, several years after his split from the West Virginia native. Calvert made the decision to leave filming behind after season 9 of the series. When he walked away from MTV, he also walked away from Instagram. The decision shocked followers. Calvert, in his younger years, was a prolific Instagram user.

Calvert’s life in the intervening years is largely a mystery. Between 2019 and 2022, Teen Mom fans learned nothing new about him. His name did, however, come up in 2023. In late 2023, he made headlines when he approached his ex-wife at her job and became aggressive. According to the U.S. Sun, a woman described as Calvert’s “new wife” was also involved in the altercation. There is no indication that he’s actually legally married to anyone at the moment.
Leah later opened up about the situation, claiming that she and Jeremy had been cordial, but that the incident was scary. She did not elaborate on what caused the drama. Messer filed for an order of protection that same evening. Following the 2023 incident, no one talked about Calvert. Leah didn’t speak his name, and neither did her children, including the 12-year-old daughter they share. He was largely forgotten by the Teen Mom fandom until now.
He returned to the platform this week with some odd updates
Earlier this week, Jeremy Calvert’s Instagram account whirred to life. The pipeline engineer explained that he hadn’t been able to get into his account for the last six years. From the sounds of it, he is going through some pretty significant changes at the moment. He then took to the stories to rant about the things he learned after returning to the app.
He shared photos from his new living situation and called out a woman by name for supposedly ruining his life. It is unclear if the woman in question was the same “wife” who was with him when he approached Messer. Calvert also shared a picture of himself, looking decidedly older, before going private on the platform. While he has opted to keep his account private for now, he hasn’t deleted any followers yet. Calvert has nearly 300,000 Teen Mom fans who follow him on Instagram.
Redditors who are still following the former reality TV personality report that he is continuing to update with new content. Several followers theorize that his return to social media is connected to a breakup of some sort, as he is continuing to make vague references to life changes.
