Theresa Nist Responds to Gerry Turner’s Wild Accusations
Gerry Turner has a book coming out that he insists his ex-wife, Theresa Nist, should be worried about. The Golden Bachelor fans were caught off guard when the septuagenarian subtly dragged his ex in a recent interview and alluded to a big reveal that would completely flip public perception. Here’s the thing, though. Theresa Nist does not appear to be worried about a single thing. The Bachelor Nation alum has commented on her ex’s feelings and upcoming book, and she’s the very picture of an unbothered queen.

If there were any Golden Bachelor fans still under the assumption that Gerry Turner is a nice guy, he probably shattered the illusion this week with his comments about Theresa Nist. The first-ever golden bachelor sat down with Us Weekly to discuss his upcoming memoir and how much of his time on The Golden Bachelor would be featured in the book. From the sounds of it, there is going to be a lot of detail about the dating competition and his thought process as he headed toward a televised wedding.
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist insisted they were on good terms when they announced their split in April 2024. It has become glaringly obvious that that was a big lie. During his chat with Us Weekly, Turner essentially blamed Nist for how the public has perceived him. He also suggested she was responsible for their split. Turner went on to claim that he never really wanted to marry her in the first place, and that she should be concerned about what he has written in his book.
Theresa Nist isn’t going to stay quiet
While Gerry Turner thinks his ex-wife should be “worried” about his upcoming memoir, she seems to be anything but worried. In fact, Nist seems to be living her life, completely ignoring the fact that Gerry Turner even exists. He probably should have opted to do the same. Following Turner’s threats and revelations, Nist issued a statement.
The New Jersey Native issued a statement to Us Weekly. She said, “I wish he had said something and just ended it. But at least now I understand why he was so hurtful to me so many times.” While the public largely sees Nist as a low-key and subdued person, she apparently does have a bit of the iconic Jersey swagger in her. She went on to reference Turner’s suggestion that she should be worried. Nist told the publication, “Those in glass houses should not throw stones.” She turned on the charm once again, ending her statement with a proclamation that she wishes him the best. It is a sentiment he couldn’t muster earlier in the week, even when asked.
Turner’s comments seemed to come out of nowhere to some The Golden Bachelor fans. Still, it actually isn’t a surprise. It is obvious that there were some significant issues in the couple’s short-lived marriage. In the months since the split, tension has been evident. Nist has alluded to some darker reasons behind their split in the past. Back in June, she appeared in Almost Famous and addressed Turner’s suggestion that his cancer diagnosis impacted her interest. She suggested there were a lot of reasons behind the split, including ones unknown to the public, but that Turner’s diagnosis changed nothing for her. She suggested, at that time, that he should really only speak for himself.
