Cardi B and Stefon Diggs reportedly ended their relationship shortly before the Super Bowl. The couple sparked breakup rumors ahead of the big game, after fans noticed that they no longer followed each other on social media. A source said that Cardi ended things when she realized Diggs had betrayed her. In the months before their split, though, Cardi vocally defended the NFL player.

The day before the Super Bowl, Cardi sparked breakup rumors with her chilly message to Diggs before the game. She then appeared to reference the end of their relationship several times while on tour. A source recently confirmed that they ended things.
“They are always so up and down,” they told Us Weekly. “This isn’t the first time they have broken up.”
They added that Cardi felt she deserved better than the way Diggs was treating her.
“Cardi is single and putting herself out there again. She feels free,” they said. “He betrayed her so many times. Her friends have been trying to show her that he is not right for her and that she deserved better.”
The couple shares a son.
She defended him multiple times in the past
Cardi’s fans were critical of her relationship with Diggs from the moment it started. He welcomed a child with another woman shortly before Cardi gave birth to their son. She once addressed the fans criticizing the relationship.
“Y’all need to calm down,” she said in a video on X (formerly Twitter). “Is y’all cool? Y’all been dragging me for three or four days and y’all been a little bit too mean. Like alright now. Y’all being a little bit too mean.”
She added that she couldn’t change the fact that they had a baby together.
“I can’t change s***,” she said, adding, “I can’t go back in time. I already had a baby. Y’all want me to put my baby back in my p****? Huh? I don’t know what y’all want me to do. Y’all want me to leave my man and f*** yours?”
Not long afterwards, Cardi ardently defended Diggs after he was charged with felony strangulation against an employee.
“Not once has that woman said anything to me about being touched.. NOT ONCE!!” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Mind you, we was talking every single day until she left that house and she JUST wrote me this.. but I’m gonna let the courts handle s*** and when it gets handled I want all yall talkin s*** on your f***in knees with apologies just as loud the way yall been harassing over a lie… and I put that on my two month old son in the name of the lord!! That’s how confident I am.”

Cardi even defended Diggs after their split. BIA, whom Cardi takes a dig at in the song “Pretty & Petty,” posted about him on social media.
“Can u name someone with more [baby mamas] than receiving yards?” BIA wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I can! and I know that… [you know what, never mind.]”
Cardi addressed the post during her Little Miss Drama tour.
“Just because I ain’t f***ing with my baby daddy doesn’t mean you get to talk about my baby daddy. This is for you, b****,” she said before performing “Pretty & Petty.”
