Todd Chrisley Says He Was Approached About a Political Career: Would He Run for Office?
Todd Chrisley was released from prison years earlier than anticipated thanks to a presidential pardon. Despite getting so many free years back, he didn’t waste any time getting his career back on track. Since his release, Todd Chrisley, along with his wife, Julie Chrisley, have sat for interviews. They’ve launched a new podcast, starred in a limited reality TV series, and discussed their plans for the future. While Todd Chrisley originally suggested a move to South Carolina, and a new reality show was on the horizon, he might have a reason to stay put in Tennessee. Todd Chrisley claims he was approached about a career in politics. Would he actually take on such a role?
Todd Chrisley says a governor suggested he consider a career in politics
Todd Chrisley has been approached to run for office. At least, that’s what he recently claimed. The extroverted reality TV star recently sat down for a chat with Access Hollywood, and he had some big stories to tell. Chrisley said that the governor of Tennessee had approached him about considering political office.
Todd Chrisley revealed that he received a phone call from Bill Lee about considering running for a “seat.” Chrisley went on to say that Lee also suggested Savannah Chrisley consider a political run. The suggestion came after she tirelessly advocated for her parents’ release from prison. Neither Todd nor Savannah, who was present for the interview, suggested they were actually interested in a political career. Still, it’s surely nice to know you have options.
Todd Chrisley had a career path mapped out in his mind before the phone call
While Todd Chrisley didn’t reveal whether a career in politics is on the horizon, he has previously insisted that he has a career plan mapped out. In a past interview, Chrisley said that he and Julie felt like they were being called back to South Carolina, where they both grew up and met. Todd said that he was hoping to buy a mansion in Charleston, South Carolina, and renovate it into a boutique hotel.
The property developer isn’t interested in just running a hotel, though. He wants reality TV cameras to capture every moment of the process. Todd appears to be pretty set on his path, but he won’t be able to pursue a career in politics and run a successful hotel while also appearing on reality TV. He’ll need to make a choice.
At this point, it seems like they haven’t made a final call. To our knowledge, the Chrisleys have not yet purchased a home in South Carolina. Currently, they are still residing in Tennessee, but it has only been a few months since they were released from prison. Anything could still happen.
