Are Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent Dating? They Weigh in on Rumors of Romantic Nights Out

Recently, rumors have flown that Vanderpump Rules alums Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent are in a romantic relationship. Fans of the show have followed both Schwartz and Kent as they navigate their love lives on screen. Now, though, some have wondered if they’re involved now that cameras are not rolling. Kent and Schwartz poked fun at the rumors to show that they’re just friends.

Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent are not dating

Recently, a comment on the Bravo and Cocktails Instagram account claimed that Schwartz and Kent are in a relationship.

“They are actually together,” it read. “I see them all the time at the bistro I work at and he’s always picking up the bill. They just need to come out and be HONEST!”

The comment kicked off a flurry of discussion about whether or not the former castmates have taken their friendship to the next level. Anyone hoping to see a Vanderpump Rules romance is out of luck, though. Sources close to them told TMZ that there is no truth to the rumors.

Schwartz and Kent also addressed their alleged relationship on his podcast, Detox Retox.

“If it’s on the internet, it’s true, right?” Schwartz said as they both laughed.

The episode description also pokes fun at the rumors.

“It’s the hard launch of Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent!” it reads. “We can barely type that without laughing!”

It seems that Schwartz and Kent have no intention of being anything but platonic friends.

Lala Kent previously cut Tom Schwartz out of her life

While Kent and Schwartz have a friendly relationship now, they were once on rockier footing. In 2022, she cut him out of her life after learning he was still speaking to her ex-fiance, Randall Emmett. 

“I learned that Schwartz hung out with that person [Randall] the other day,” she said in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live (via People). “So, I cut him out.”

She said she wanted “nothing to do” with anyone who maintained a relationship with Emmett.

“I’m not the type of person to say, like, you have to pick a side,” she said. “But in this situation, if you don’t pick my side or you remain Switzerland, I want nothing to do with you.”

What will the reality stars do after ‘Vanderpump Rules’?

Both Kent and Schwartz were longtime cast members on Vanderpump Rules. Schwartz joined the show as a main cast member in its third season, and Kent became a main cast member in its sixth. For the 12th season, though, the show will hire an entirely new cast, leaving the legacy cast to move on from the series. 

Schwartz and Kent don’t appear to have plans to move away from the Bravo-verse entirely, though. They have both made appearances on the Vanderpump Rules spinoff series, The Valley. Fellow cast member Scheana Shay has also made guest appearances on the show.

Jax Taylor, a Vanderpump Rules alum who stars on The Valley, doesn’t want to see his former castmates join the new show, though.

“I personally don’t think we need to bring anyone from Vanderpump Rules over,” he said, per Page Six. “I’m not trying to make this Vanderpump Rules. As of right now, that is a no. It is a hard no. But who knows, it could change. If we have parties, absolutely.”
